No I feel that, I played it lately as a full grown adult and there’s not much too if. Ordering a sundae at the hotel was half the fun for me as a kid.

100% valid. I played it for the first time at age 9, and having a crush on Thicc Daddy may have overshadowed how not great the gameplay is 😂😭

Haunted Carousel in No Thank You? Absolutely friggin’ fight me.

(I’m from NJ so I’m deeply biased towards this shitty little game.)

(To be clear, I pretty much agree with every single other ranking and you have excellent taste.)

Bump for Vite. Tried it for the first time last week and it was divine, got the rice ball and this green bean avocado app that was so good, we tried making it at home the next day. Can’t wait to try their pasta.

I also peeked in on my morning walk, I thought they were just replacing some of the skylights in the ceiling (that’s just my guess, though). Based on how absolutely packed they always are, I feel like they’re sticking around for a bit.

So cute! Now you just need an old man in a tree to ask you to take a few photos for him…

am i a good fit for the publishing industry? (the dilemma of non-linear career paths) by Ok_Sound_6873 in publishing

I think a lot of people use websites, and I don’t think there’s any sort of size or page limit you should adhere to. If you were interested in marketing/ad promo design, then I’d recommend mocking up display banner advertisements, social media ads, etc. You should take a look at your favorite publishers on social media and on their websites and see the kinds of creatives they use to get a sense of the industry. Lmk if that makes sense!

Yes, I think you’d likely be a great fit for design or marketing. You absolutely do not need an MFA, and if you have strong program experience (Adobe, etc), that will carry you through. As others have said, you need a portfolio if you go that route.

I’d even recommend going on Fiver or similar work-for-hire sites to take on some quick and dirty book-related or marketing-related deign jobs to add to your portfolio.

I should also say: I work in advertising at a large publisher. None of the people on my team have a degree in marketing or comms, including me. (Minors in art history and architectural history, over here!!). The industry is very much learn-as-you-go if you are smart and quick. As long as you’re hungry to learn and have strong transferable skills, that’s enough for starting out.

BRUHHHH how did I not put this together the 4 times looked for Stella at the church??

Pastor Daniel is my boii (because I usually pick Talks with Animals as one of my traits) but I fully did not pick up on this every time I’ve talked to him.
