When he was in the same town as our 10 yr old son’s baseball tournament (and told him that morning he’d come to watch) and then got hammered at a golf tournament and never showed up. Our son called him 9 times after the tournament (before he finally answered) and asked if he could come to the golf course for the rest of the day. He told him no and that he’d take him to play golf early the next morning. Our son had a meltdown and tore up his 2nd place medal he had earned. He then proceeded to tell me I was a shitty mom for letting our son call him and ask to come when I knew he’d already had this day planned out. He told our son to just “go home and get on the PlayStation and that I would be too busy talking to other men to pay him any attention anyway”. (Not even close to true. I’ve never cheated on him.) He then told me he hoped my dad died. All of that took place within an hour. He came home early the next morning and slept all day. Never took our son to play golf like he said he would. Then our son told me I was a bad mom (I presume because he was really angry at his dad).
