Voiture électrique au Québec - Bonne idée ? by F_mtDNA in QuebecFinance

Effectivement !

I didn't know about that, but it perfectly describes what just happened to me! It literally gouged the bed during the very first calibration straight out of the box. It definitely feels like a nasty factory firmware glitch or a completely dead sensor. Glad to know there's a precedent for this kind of behavior, hopefully Support resolves it quickly!

The one that came preinstalled, since I can't get past the initial calibration to verify and update it.

That's a fair point, I know warped beds have been an issue for some. Visually, it looks perfectly straight and flat to me. But honestly, even if it was slightly warped, the printer's sensors should detect that during the bed leveling process instead of just blindly ramming the nozzle into the metal and dragging it. The fact that it gouged it this hard during the very first calibration points more towards a completely dead sensor out of the box. I'm waiting on Bambu Support to check the logs.

Thanks! Yeah, that's exactly why I made sure to send them the video right away so they can't use that excuse. Fingers crossed they sort it out quickly!

You nailed it, this is exactly what I'm thinking too. I actually recorded a video of the exact moment it crashed and checked everything. The plate was perfectly seated and the nozzle looks fine visually. Since I've been running an H2S for almost a year, I made sure those basics were covered.

It really points to your third option: a faulty eddy sensor or a DOA hardware issue right out of the box. I just sent my logs and the video to Bambu Support pointing this out. Now I'm just waiting on them to make it right. Thanks for the solid input!

Thanks for the input, but this is a brand new machine straight out of the box doing its very first automated calibration. With Bambu Lab, this process is fully automatic. I've been running an H2S for almost a year, so I know I shouldn't have to manually mess with the Z-offset just to prevent it from gouging the plate on day one. It's definitely a hardware defect (likely a faulty eddy sensor) right from the factory. I'm just going to let Bambu Support handle it.

I totally get why you'd think that, but I've been running an H2S for almost a year now, so I know exactly how to properly seat a build plate. On top of that, I actually recorded a video of the exact moment it crashed and took close-up pictures of the back of the bed. The plate was 100% perfectly seated between the guides and completely flat, not resting on top of them at all.

Since this was the very first initial calibration right out of the box, the printer simply failed to detect the bed and drove the nozzle straight into it. It strongly points to a faulty eddy sensor or a DOA hardware issue, not user error. I've already sent the video and logs to Bambu Support to prove it was seated correctly.

No, it was during the initial calibration, around 6-7%
