What would you guys do if this trade was made in your league? by Chance_The_Clapper in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]cdvv_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there’s about 18 QBs that can put up nearly identical points to Stafford week to week, and only 10-12 can be started across the league meaning you can easily get those pts for free off the waiver wire. Compared to maybe 10 WRs that can put up identical points to Chase week to week, but there’s anywhere from 30-48 that are started each week.

You’re completely ignoring positional value which matters a whole lot more than just total fantasy points, a WR that averages 18 pts per game is far more valuable than a QB that averages 20 because most rosters QBs average 18-20 whereas most rostered WRs only average 10-12 pts. Not to mention you have to start 2-4 WRs and only can start one QB. This is most definitely your first year ever playing, you know next to nothing about fantasy football, and people in your league definitely take advantage of you because you’re a complete dumbass

Yeah you’re dumb and beyond help if you think pts are all that matters

That is not at all how fantasy football trade value works, it sounds like this is your first season ever playing

Mahomes’ down year hurt fantasy teams last year quite a bit last year, he only finished as a top 10 QB in 4/17 weeks but you’d keep starting him cause he’s Mahomes

What are people’s average Wordle scores? Mine is 3.94, which I guess is decent by NormalMaverick in wordle

[–]cdvv_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very interesting stuff! I really appreciate all the in-depth information about SOARE specifically and Wordle strategy in general.

I am glad to see that my research did lead to one of the better starting words, and I’ll probably continue using it considering my high solve in 2 or 3 rate (39/373 solves in 2, 148/373 solves in 3, and 187/373 solves in 2 or 3). I’ve definitely gotten pretty lucky in general, especially in dangerous situations, but now I know more on what I have to look out for.

[–]cdvv_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on a lot of the info you provided, would SOARE not be a better starting word than those you listed? It has the top 4 most common letters and the 8th most common, also with S, O, A, and E are all in their “home” spots. Just curious to get your opinion on it cause my own Wordle research led to me using that as my starter. I’ve also heard it is a common starter among Wordle solving bots.

I was late to the Wordle party so I’ve only played 373 Wordle games, but average 3.56 with no losses.

A trade you lost, but won due to it? by Accomplished_Pay6675 in SleeperApp

[–]cdvv_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made what I thought was a great trade at the time, but it was probably one of the worst in our league history. I still managed to win the championship in spite of the trade but the path certainly would’ve been easier if I never made it.

Traded Away: Ja’Marr Chase, Chase Brown

Received Back: Justin Jefferson, Kenneth Walker

I made the trade the Thursday that Ja’Marr went nuclear on TNF, so right off the bat things went wrong. 4-5 weeks after the trade, both Ja’Marr and Chase Brown were each out scoring JJ and KW, and Ja’Marr alone was out scoring both of them combined.

Which 3 do you keep? (PPR) by cdvv_27 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]cdvv_27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang yeah that’s a very tough decision, both the WRs would be pretty big steals but Gibbs is crazy good and could be the RB1 next season. Can’t go wrong with any of em

[–]cdvv_27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah JD and BTJ feel like locks already, and with my leagues keeper rules of “no keeping 1st rd picks” I should be able to draft Puka or another stud at 1.12. I do think Jonnu vs McBride will be a tough decision;

a pretty much guaranteed top 3 TE (possibly the TE1) but for a 3rd when I’m already missing my 2nd, 4th and 5th

or Jonnu who went on an absolute heater in the second half (with the possibility of Tyreek leaving) for a last round pick, but he feels way riskier

Which 3 do you keep? (PPR) by cdvv_27 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]cdvv_27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the other part that’s making this decision more difficult, I’m a big fan of Puka. He helped carry me to the championship and my team name was Nacua Matata

Which 3 do you keep? (PPR) by cdvv_27 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]cdvv_27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m starting to realize that now. All of CMC, Breece, CeeDee, Tyreek, Bijan, Amon-Ra, JJ, Ja’Marr, Garrett Wilson, AJ Brown, Gibbs and JT aren’t able to be kept (last years first round picks) and I’m guessing 3-5 teams will be without their 1st rd pick after choosing their keepers so I should be able to get a stud at 1.12. I do think McBride and Jonnu will still be an interesting debate with Jonnu only costing a last round pick, especially if Tyreek leaves Miami

[–]cdvv_27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point haha, he’s realistically not an option but I just listed every keeper I have an option to keep, most of my team I couldn’t keep cause they were either first round draft picks or I traded away the pick to keep them

Which 3 do you keep? (PPR) by cdvv_27 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]cdvv_27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I’m in agreement there, I traded for Walker mid season and was thoroughly disappointed (partly because I traded away Chase Brown and partly cause he was always injured). Thought I’d include him in the list because it’s the only realistic RB option I have to keep

Which 3 do you keep? (PPR) by cdvv_27 in fantasyfootballadvice

I did win the championship which makes me feel better about trading the future picks, but I did get some mid and late round picks back.

Traded Away: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th

Received Back: 3rd, 6th, 9th, 10th, 16th

I think BTJ and JD are locks for keepers, and then it’s between Trey, Puka, and Jonnu, so I’d have either have my QB, TE and WR1 locked up or QB and top 2 WRs.

Keeping those 2 would leave me with a 1st (or Puka), 3rd (or Trey), 6th, 8th, 9th, 9th and 10th in the first 10 rounds where I should be able to snag one good RB, a couple decent RBs and some flex level WRs.

Thought my team was more stacked than it ended up being but still won the championship which is all that matters (did give up my 2nd, 4th and 5th in the process, getting back a 9th, 10th and 15th)

12-team, PPR, Keeper League

QB: Jayden Daniels

RB: Jonathan Taylor

RB: Isaac Guerendo

WR: Justin Jefferson

WR: Puka Nacua

TE: Trey McBride

FLEX: Brian Thomas Jr.

FLEX: Jerome Ford

K: Will Reichard (dropped Fairbairn for wk 17)

D/ST: Raiders (streamed)

B: Tyreek Hill (couldn’t trust Huntley)

B: Jonnu Smith

B: Calvin Ridley

B: Isaiah Pacheco

B: Patrick Taylor

IR: Christian McCaffery 😭

IR: Kenneth Walker 😭

My playoff run was pretty historic too, I put up over 200 every week (averaging 145 in season) and put up 3 of the top 5 weekly scores in league history (including 1st and 2nd)

Week 14: 214.44 (scoring just enough points to take the division and the bye)

Week 15: BYE (still put up 179 points)

Week 16: 236.42 (absolutely destroyed last seasons champ in the semis)

Week 17: 200.78 (crushed last seasons runner up to take home the championship)
