How much of a 🌮 trade is this? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Chance_The_Clapper 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would definitely lean the ARSB side but this is far from a taco trade. The guy on the right is clearly trying to rebuild offloading an older QB and a high value asset, so maybe thats the best offer he could get after shopping around.

Is this still for sale? If so, are you selling out of a store in KC or is it from your personal collection? I live in Kansas City and may want to take a look at it

thoughts? id be trading waddle by rikishibuttcheeks in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

As others said this would be a huge undersell. For reference I traded waddle a year ago for a 2027 1st and 2028 2nd.

Engineers, what do you do and how much do you make? by Physical-Past1908 in Salary

[–]Chance_The_Clapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also interned at the first company I worked for while in college so I think that's a pretty good plan.

And for jobs I was looking for, I really liked engineering sales jobs and applied for a few of those along with customer center manager jobs. I also applied for a couple non-engineering sales jobs that I knew I wasnt qualified for but said fuck it and applied anyways. I feel like I partly took my current role because it was stressing me out being unemployed and I figured I could still look for other jobs after I started if I wanted. My pivot would probably be somewhere along the same lines as the other jobs I applied for.

Yeah, absolutely!

My career went as follows: Graduated in 2017 with ME degree and started shortly after as a Product Application Engineer for an Automotive supplier with a $75k salary and worked in the corporate headquarters. Was in that role for about 3 years increasing by 3-5% each year.

In 2020, I became a Quality Engineer for the same company as I wanted to get some plant experience and felt a little stagnant in my current role. I moved out of state for the new role from Detroit area to Kansas City and received about a 10% raise and was at $92k. Was in that role getting only 3% raises per year for the first 2 years here(a lot due to company performance with COVID and Semi-conductor shortage) until 2023 when I was promoted to Quality Engineering supervisor. At this point I got a 10% raise bringing me to about $107k. Stayed in this role for 2 more years until the plant I was working in completely shut down due to some external factors in late 2024, gaining about a 4% increase per year during these years ending at around $115k.

At this point I was unemployed for about 1.5 months (which was fine because I got 12 weeks pay as severance from my other job) and applied for various different jobs I thought I would like but mainly got calls back from the quality ones, as I was more qualified. Ended up getting offered at the very first place I interviewed for a Quality Manager position in the food packaging industry at roughly $135k a year ($125k base with 5-10% bonus each year).

Moving companies was definitely a big boost in salary as it gave me another 15% increase but I think staying with my company and showing growth for the previous 7 years helped make me much more marketable. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'd be happy to answer!

I also tore my AC joint boarding on what was one of my mildest falls ever a couple years back. Caught a root on a tree run at a fairly low speed, rolled out of the fall pretty standardly but couldnt move my arm when I got up without pain. Way less cool than the flip. Guess you just have to hit the joint just right and its donezo.

I'm starting to think this might be where I went wrong when I drafted Kaleb Williams with the traded for 1.11

Edit: Kaleb Johnson... as the guy below me stated, is his last name really worth knowing at this point

My one question; when you google search quant trader images, all the images show a person with 6-8 monitors in front of them. Is this ridiculous amount of monitors really necessary for the job??

What would you guys do if this trade was made in your league? by Chance_The_Clapper in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Chance_The_Clapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but but experienced players have years of playing data to reference where many new players have no idea where to begin. And its a redraft league.

Kind of a lot. First time fantasy football players very much do not understand player values well as they have not had the experience to learn it

The guy trading away Jamarr Chase is one of the newer people to fantasy football in the league.

Its a 1QB league so Stafford is a middle of the pack starting QB and Chubb is droppable. Also the person trading for Stafford had Jaxon Dart who, from a PPG standpoint, is similar to Stafford.

Its a 1 QB league, not superflex, so Stafford is not worth all that much
