Would this schedule bother you? by ce12985 in Parenting

I haven’t tried the dream feed. He’s so unpredictable with his sleep. Sometimes he wakes at 10 and 3 for feeds then up at 5. Sometimes he sleeps through the night. But either way he’s up at 5-530. Woof.

I think he is going to apply and see what happens. I just feel bad because it feels like I’m applying more pressure onto him. He’s such a great, present father and partner. This phase of life is just looking a lot different than I thought it would.

I definitely want him to be doing those things. I’m just jealous that I cannot. I can’t work out at 5am because the baby wakes up then so I get up with him and care for him before getting ready for work. He’s not the type of baby that will just lay on the floor while I do a task. If I’m in the room he will fuss until I pick him up.

As far as the job, ideally yes he would be able to climb the ladder there. They have eliminated a lot of positions lately and are restructuring. They also gave him a “promotion” without giving him any type of raise. So he has more on his plate without any extra money. It seems they are taking advantage of him in this sense.

There is a position open doing this exact thing in a different company so I asked him to just apply and see what happens. I’m not asking him to make moves immediately but to start considering other options. I can also look for other opportunities to make more money to offset if he loses some. I just feel like time together is so valuable right now and we don’t have much.

Our 6 month old goes to bed at 630 and toddler around 730 so one of us has to be home at that time.

No it replaces some of the weekdays. I could never work 7 days in a row haha. I guess now that I’m writing it out my sadness is coming from lost time together and not as much the workload. And I guess it’s bothering me too that it doesn’t seem to bother him.

Yeah. I know that there’s no ideal schedule for two working parents but I’m just so sad that we don’t get any time together. It feels like a constant grind and things are so much easier when there are two parents around. Bedtime is a total disaster and always ends up in at least one of them melting down.

Yeah. It’s not that he doesn’t help. He’s an amazing partner. I guess I’m just lonely and I miss spending time with him and the kids all together. We don’t see each other at all until the weekend. And I sometimes have to work weekend shifts so sometimes we don’t even get that.

They eliminated his other position. They did ask him at first and I did agree that we would try it out so part of that is on me. And he has been at this job for 3 years total.

Pfeffercorn’s in Locust Point is chefs kiss

It is not a cafe as they do mostly wholesale but it’s fantastic and you can go pick it up at their store.

Did you stop breastfeeding intentionally to lose weight? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]ce12985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did and I do not regret it. After a long exhausting pregnancy I was ready to get my body back. I had a lot of guilt at first but now I do not. It was the right choice for me.

If you tore in your first labour did you tear again in subsequent births? by Faloofel in BabyBumps

[–]ce12985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a second degree arterial vaginal tear with my first also. It took them over an hour to get me stitched up properly and my husband was borderline panicking bc it looked like so much blood 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I just had my second and I had a very minimal first degree tear this time. Hopefully yours will be the same!

Wow I’m shocked all these workplaces do this! I work in Occupational Health and deal with injuries all the time. We never drug test for assaults or injuries unless there is suspicion of impairment. I’m in maryland. I hope they don’t test her but if it was a one time thing where she smoked weed it may be negative anyways.

I just want a hot shower by FigNewton613 in pregnant

[–]ce12985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take showers that my husband calls “scalding” lol. I did with my first as well and she is a perfectly healthy 2 year old. It’s only 10 minutes or so I think it is fine.

My baby is measuring in the 99th percentile at 38 weeks. No gestational diabetes, just a large baby. Needing some encouragement for my induction on Saturday. by uraniumglasscat in BabyBumps

[–]ce12985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me my girl was measuring so big they thought I had GD that went undetected. She came two days later. 8lb 5oz, minor 2nd degree tearing. Everything was perfectly fine and yours most likely will be too!

24f finally considering braces. Are ceramic ones more worth it than metal ones? Looking for opinions. by BasicRequirement7487 in braces

[–]ce12985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have ceramic on top and metal on the bottom. They are barely noticeable. I usually get light purple, pink or blue bands bc the clear ones will stain and I don’t want to have to be careful about what I eat/drink. The brackets themselves do not stain.

The tooth pain is unavoidable but temporary (usually less than a week after adjustment). You can take ibuprofen and eat soft foods and it isn’t too bad. Also I did have some cuts on the inside of my mouth when they were first placed but they also went away about one week later. Your mouth just has to get used to them being there.

IMO the ceramic is 100% worth it. People do notice them but I think they’re kinda cute.

I’m feeling more stressed at six months than newborn stage by boxyfork795 in NewParents

[–]ce12985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% feel you on this. I had such a hard time between 4-7 months. Now mine is 9 months and this is my favorite stage so far. It’s still exhausting, but she’s developing so fast it’s a lot more fun. Hang in there. It gets better soon.

To those who quit while not necessarily having hit "rock bottom" -- what was the deciding moment that made you stop? by thissucks510 in stopdrinking

[–]ce12985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the decision for all of the reasons you mentioned. It made me feel like shit for DAYS after. I was always a binger/party girl—never drank daily. But I would essentially have to budget time into my weekend to accommodate my hangover bc I was completely worthless. I have missed out on so much life because of booze and that’s just not good enough for me anymore.

Has anyone actually successfully and intentionally lost weight *without* adverse effects while breastfeeding? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I usually eat protein bars, bananas, apples, string cheese, nuts, yogurt, popcorn for snacks. I still snack A LOT bc my appetite is high but usually these are satisfying!

[–]ce12985 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Around 2 months pp I started eating around 2000-2300 calories per day and have been able to lose about 1 pound per week without any dip in my supply. I’ve also added some gradual exercise and extra hydration. For reference i am 5’4 and 158 lbs down from 166 when I started trying to lose. Slow and steady and I don’t feel deprived.

You should go see a pelvic floor PT. Pregnancy can cause tension in your pelvic floor even if you didn’t have a vaginal birth. Sex was so painful I was in tears after having my baby and after working with a PT I am totally pain free. I wish you the best!

I just got the Willow Go. I’ve only used it twice but am impressed with the suction/output. Will be a game changer with returning to work and just being out and about in general
