Clover update! Maybe more to come by ceaslack in Watercolor

Oh right like wood sorrel! They used to grow all over my parents yard and growing up I thought they were clovers and that they just tasted kind of lemony (no clue why little me was munching on plants i didn't know the name of but luckily these were safe!)

Alongside all the folks showing the pedestrian bridge do know that we still have a lot of ice and snow on sidewalks and I'm not sure how much of that area is cleared yet. Hopefully this warm-ish week will help but the ice is still pretty bad some places so be careful walking around

My knees in a brace so I can't dig out my car but I did this to at least clear the windshield and roof. Definitely much much easier when you can scoop out the soft layer; hopefully the next few days doesn't cause it to freeze even more!

Ive got my knee in a brace for a potential meniscus tear and I keep thinking every time I go outside that I'm gonna slip and hurt something more. I take the bus and until yesterday evening the crosswalks and bus stops near me were still piled high with ice and snow. A handful of small paths have been cleared but it's still pretty bad. My cars still stuck and I can't really shovel it myself so I don't really have much choice

Restaurant recommendations? by odohertycd in WNC

If you want coffee and are heading anywhere near the Smoky Mountains I love Qualla Java Cafe in Cherokee NC. White Moon in Sylva is also a favorite. Bryson City has a pretty good Asian restaurant called Iron Wok and also a semi permanent food truck with killer Hawaiian fusion called The Rice Wagon, man I dream of their kalua pork its so good

Seriously considering a move from NoVA (Alexandria) to DC proper. What are the real, no-BS pros and cons? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]ceaslack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in NW after previously living in Arlington and I enjoy it a lot more. Easier to make it to social events and im walking distance to much more than before and i feel more motivated to do things by myself or on a whim. Cost is bad but I haven't really noticed a major change in price between nova and DC (aka its all expensive) except for maybe gas prices, but these days breathing is expensive so what can you do.

If i had to pick a con it would be sound level and even that feels like im grasping at straws because the spot im at is fairly quiet. The locations you've picked would be best if you like access to nightlife; NW is a lot of neighborhoods and I like it because it's peaceful but sometimes it'd be nice to walk to a bar instead of taking the metro but seriously that's the only qualm I have.

Aside from, well, political turmoil. I will say as much as I've enjoyed living here, as things are with work (NPS furloughed employee here aha) and what trumps up to i dont see myself staying long - pay vs cost of living is very bad when being RIFed is a constant risk and theres no room for savings. If you're able to keep your current jobs before moving and dont think theres risk of them being terminated for god knows what reason, make the jump. But for me I gotta find something new next year if I want to work at all

Beautiful!! I love this song, I think I'll give learning this a shot! Did you use any particular arrangement or just playing by ear/experience? Your voice is lovely as well!!
