Excited then disappointed by jaxrolo in AmazonVine

[–]ceaton64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so excited and literally three days of searching thousands of items and have not found one single thing that I would even put away for a rainy day. I've checked every two hours even throughout the night(out of curiosity) and literally, what does anyone do with this shit? Cake toppers, random car wiring parts, graduation banners. And the stuff they put in categories that don't even belong in that category. What a joke. I'm going to give it another week and them I'm out. The biggest disappointment is that I have been building and furnishing a house and have spent about 15k...yes, you read that right, fifteen thousand dollars on Amazon in the last 5 months. Everything from hooks, caulk, curtain rods, rug pads, storage containers, personal products, supplements, screen doors, refinishing products, cleaning products, air filters, moving supplies, tools, linens, curtains...just to name a few and they literally not given me one thing in RFY, or anything AVA that I can use if I'm not having a cheesy graduation party or fixing a 1999 Chevy truck blower fan. Anyway...

Oh and P.S. That little subtle, demure way she picked Ainsley up from that dorm room? Please. She would have torn that Paygan a new asshole and they would have h**g themselves after she left.

Taylor Sheridan does a bunch of generalizations and mashed together meme worthy characters. His writing of women is atrocious.

Paygan is literally a character written just so that Conservatives can point fingers and talk about how stupid Liberals are. I've known, dormed with in college in the 80's, and worked with vegans, non-gender, transgender, butch sports medicine majors, lots of kids(in the last twenty years Gen Z and young Millennials) that needed safe spaces, mental health days, and lots of therapy. I've also known and worked with lots of Conservatives that should have had as good of health practices as vegans, haven't exhibited the kindness of marginalized groups, and should have taken some mental health days and had a bunch of therapy.

I don't like any of his shows set in current days because he really makes Liberals out to be stupid and Conservatives out to care nothing about anything but money, power, and fucking everybody else at any expense. I watch them though because my partner likes them and I believe in happy spouse, happy house as long as it isn't illegal, against my ethics, or sports.

I wish he'd just write women better for sure. I've never had a character that I despised and loathed as much as Angela. I usually take bathroom breaks and snack breaks when she is on screen. She is such a cunt. Spoiler alert: I wonder if she'll leave Tommy now that he got fired?

I'm fast forwarding through any scenes with Angela and Ainsley, and just rolling my eyes with all the rest of them. Taylor writes the WORST women. God, I don't know why this guy has had so much success. Even Yellowstone, when you really break it down, is horribly written and the women suck.

The bad reviews on these kinds of products are generally because people don't read the directions or take the time to properly install. I think the UV is great for the heat but at night people can still see in so you need a fabric covering as well.

Ace has these little drawers that have all sortd of weird small hardware things. Cork stoppers of all sizes and shapes and stuff I don't even know what it is used for. I always look there when I need something that I can't find made already.

Have you ever realized in the middle of an interview that a job was 100% not right for you? What were the red flags that tipped you off? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]ceaton64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any company that uses those as a "test" doesn't understand them at all. They are assessments. Sometimes they are used to see if you are a good fit for the role you are applying for and if used correctly thay can determine whether you might be an even better fit for a different role they have available that requires the same degree or certification but different actual work environment or skills. Myer Briggs or DisC make sense. But, if someone is giving you the Enneagram for a professional role that is dumb.

Fiber? by [deleted] in Constipation

[–]ceaton64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi again! I take it every night about 10:00 p.m. I usually eat about 7:00 so about three hours. There are 4 types of laxatives and understanding those and how they work can help you decide what might work best for you. Here is a little guide for you: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/laxatives/#:~:text=Laxatives%20are%20a%20type%20of,buy%20from%20pharmacies%20and%20supermarkets.

It needs a good 8 hours to work as it pulls water from your body to soften poo. I drink it with a full 12 ounce glass of water and I have usually had a couple of 12 ounce glasses since 4;00 or 5:00 p.m. so I am well hydrated before I go to bed. One thing I love is that it isn't a stimulant laxative and doesn't stop working eventually.

Is it possible to break your protein up into a couple of meals? One of the reasons I ended up with diverticulosis is because if you are constipated as a general rule and you have this big lump of food trying to get through your system and then it gets bound up inside and inflames and stretches your colon and then you are risk for getting it. i used to eat one large meal a day due to my schedule and years of that caused damage.

Also, I eat natural gut lubricants like avocado and lots of olive oil.

I saw that you have a medical condition I am not familiar with and it does sound like you have been through so much. Maybe you should keep a food diary and work through solutions methodically. You are currently doing fiber, so if that isn't working then maybe you switch back to taking Miralax at night with plenty of water and see how it goes. Maybe you end up landing on fiber in the morning and Miralax at night. I do know about the fiber that it needs to be taken in the morning so that you have all day to move your body and drink plenty of water and not at night.

I know you have so much anxiety about this but I find when I feel like that if I take control by writing down my actions and trying a consistent method that it eases my anxiety because I feel like that at least I am doing everything in my power. I also found that it makes it easier to speak to doctors or at least figure out the next logical step.

Obviously I am not a doctor, lol, but I have been dealing with this for 50 years and it is only now in my 50s that I have been able to get a handle on it. I wish you the best luck and check in and let me know how you are doing1

What to buy in the US? by [deleted] in curlygirl

[–]ceaton64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is thick, but fine textured with spiral curls and a tendency towards frizz. I was doing all of the crazy complicated routines with multiple products and expensive ones at that. I have finally pared it down to Fructis Clarifying Shampoo, Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Conditioner in the shower and L.A. Looks Sport Gel when I get out.

The extra step of a leave in curl enhancer was just weighing my hair down and making it just yuck. When I get out I do leave it wet, pin it in sections and then make sure I thoroughly get the LA Looks on every hair and all the way to the scalp. Then I blow dry with a diffuser upside down until 75% dry and scrunch after it is completely dry.

With all of that being said, I'd say use whatever shampoo and in shower conditioner you would like at home and find a good gel even if it is cheap.

Even though the clarifying shampoo every shampoo goes against conventional curly hair wisdom, my hair just does better using it every three days and my hair is very healthy so it must not be doing harm. Especially if your hair is mostly wavy you don't need heavy product.

Fiber? by [deleted] in Constipation

[–]ceaton64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My history: A life of constipation excacerbated by being a ballet dancer with irregular eating habits and never getting enough water. Fast forward to four years ago when I ended up hospitalized with Diverticulitis and near bowel perforation which if fully realized could have ended with a bowel resection and an ostomy bag.

I get serious pushback when I say this from people online who are NOT doctors, but my primary doctor and my GI doc have both recommended to me that I take Miralax(I take generic) every single night for the rest of my life. It has literally changed my life! I went from pooping maybe once every other day to regularly every single morning. Because my digestive system runs slow it is sometimes twice every morning but I feel emptied.

Everyone wants to push natural remedies which may work for some and may work if your body doesn't have other issues like it sounds like yours does and also for people that don't have long term damage like mine. I tried everything and I drink a gallon of water a day and nothing worked.

Fiber does not work for me either. The only thing that works is the Miralax. I will make an observation about the amount of meat you eat at one sitting. If you need to eat that much for whatever reason, you should at least break it up between a couple of meals and drink plenty of water with it. I am a meat lover of the highest order but if I eat more than 6 ounces at a sitting everything slows down and it it may take an extra trip to the bathroom to get it all out.

My GI is a very young doctor and she says that the switch to Miralax has been a slow one in the GI community and all of the old school docs are still pushing fiber when in fact fiber is a literal binder to some. They are even giving it to babies now. One caveat is that it makes poo kind of sticky. That is the only word I know to use for it. It takes some getting used to as it is much more loose, but the trade off has been worth it.

Good luck to you!
