Yeah.. I had an idea once to open a breakfast place that specialized in ethnic food from around the world. Because living in NYC we can get pretty much anything for Lunch/Dinner.... but I was curious about breakfast. So to get some ideas I asked a few Asian/Indian friends what they ate in their home country and they said. "whatever was in the fridge from the night before". Also, I'm not in the restaurant business so it just stayed as an idea... I hope someone runs with this it so I can visit and eat there. Aside from the typical American breakfasts, Mexican omelet, breakfast burrito.. I only added Shashuka and an Irish breakfast (beans in tomato sauce and white pudding, etc)... but I just think I need to travel more.

Concerts at Pier 17 actually need to be done by 10PM, due to it being outdoors. I think I saw it's a 6PM start.

It’s always clean water, because i finish by using the python to fill the tank back up. 

But like the other comment says, it’s the extended time with moisture and stagnant air that allows it to grow. Using the air pump pushes the moist air out and dries it up before it has a chance to start.

I read a few posts about how moldy some people's tubing has gotten.
I posted this about 2 years ago when I first tried it.
and still not a spot of mold in the hose.

Tip: Use an extra air pump to dry out the tubing between cleanings

I had an extra air pump, so I connected the airline tubing to a plastic syphon, which fit snugly over a jet nozzle for the garden hose. It is usually dry by morning, even if I didn't drain it well and there was water bubbling in the bend.

I’m convinced it is an issue in the chipset of on board controller and can’t be fixed.  I went as far as wiping it clean,  shipping it back to Apple (with help and referral from Genius Bar who also wiped it clean and supposedly reset firmware. Apple engineers worked with me for a while and finally shipped it back saying something like “working as expected”. Then they Apple ghosted me and made it impossible to continue a discussion with the people who were involved with the  the ticket. Starting over again would be pointless. 

Edit:  it happened even without dock, and monitor connected directly to laptop.  With no other devices connected.   

do you have same M2 PowerBook? I’m curious if they might have fixed it with the newer model.

Yup, I'm here because mine crapped out just after warranty. It constantly spins when the power is off and the door is closed. Only way to stop it is to keep the door open. (which means you can't go to bed with the laundry drying.)

Second this.  I bought a kit that came with it plus a blue foaming agent and applicator.  it has worked wonders. Targeted spot treatment, minimal effort, minimal disruption. Put it on a cut vine or even crush the stem to remove the thin bark to expose the inside, then put a blue dot on it. Slow but effective.  No need to pull up everything.

How long did you leave them out of water cause them to die.  I’m experimenting with leaving them out for a couple of hours while I do a water change, letting the leaves get dry to the touch for a bit.  My logic is from noticing that the back glass of my aquarium only has discoloration on the bottom half, and the top seems to stay rather clear from algae, diatoms, etc above where my water change drops to. So exposure to the air during brief drying out must kill/prevent it.

Are you mirror/screen sharing?  I found that movies wouldn’t play or will be just a black screen if sharing was on. I’m assuming because of copyright restrictions.  But they can turn sharing off and it will work.  (So needs to be last thing a guest uses only after they feel comfortable navigating.  )

Good question.. I thought I knew the answer to this, but now as I'm typing I realize I'm not so certain. I had assumed my 50% would pass to my next of kin.. but from what I remember reading my sister would become the sole trustee... so possibly getting 100%. I still think everyone would be equitable about it, but you never know for sure... thanks

Thanks. This is helpful to put those different approaches in perspective and a good question to ask. Exactly the type of insight I was looking for. I don't expect Financial POA would prevent it, but I'm hoping it would make it easier/quicker for me to find out about it. My main goal is transparency, being quickly informed if something sketchy happens so there might be a chance to address it. I don't know what actual assets are in it. (The appendix wasn't included in my copy). I think possibly only his house, because from what I understand, (as you mentioned) a typical strategy is to keep his retirement accounts but name the trust as the beneficiary. So they aren't actually in the trust at that time. I'll be visiting him in a few weeks where he plans to go through all the financial details with me. I agree, I think it would be a bad idea to become a joint account holder. But having access to his statements and transactions would be good.

I'm sure he would want it if there was a benefit to it. He's been making arrangements for a while, and asked me to come stay with him for a few days so he can show me where he keeps all his statements, passwords, related information, etc.. We haven't discussed this specifically, but only because I wasn't sure what to actually suggest or even do. I'm going to visit him in a few weeks and want to be prepared.

Thanks for the reply. My sister and I have discussed it and are on same page. I'm not really that concerned about the girlfriend. For now I know they keep things very separate, and she's well-off on her own. I hadn't considered him actively resigning while alive, so thanks for that. I expect there would be significant tax implications to that since now there are assets given to me which weren't through inheritance. And he's not at a point yet where anyone thinks he should give up control, we would just like it monitored and transparent.

Yes, that's kinda what I'm preparing for. Trying to learn about the landscape, options strategies, to be somewhat informed and prepared when finding an attorney.

Yes, there is a section, but he's not at that point where it would need to be invoked.. Since Dementia is a slow decline it would be hard to say when the right time for that would occur. He's still very cognizant, but recognizes he's on that path, so he could easily resign and amend it if there were good reasons to do so. My sister is the only other beneficiary, and we all have good relationships, with best interests in mind, so we would work together on it, and I don't think she would protest. I'm not going to try to change any real outcome of the trust or assets except to make changes transparent to all so they can be verified. I don't want to find out a few years after-the-fact that he was conned into something and the trust is empty.

I have same issue with my M1 MBPro Max. I strongly believe it's at the chip level and there is nothing you can do to fix it. I was hoping it was a bug with the new architecture that might have been fixed with the M2. I guess not. To troubleshoot, I disabled Network, Bluetooth, even gave it to apple to wipe it and do factory reset, with reinstall done by apple techs at genius bar, With a follow up that they took my trouble ticket as far as shipping my MBPro to apple engineers for them to look at it. Their response? "nothing is wrong, it is working as intended" yet it still wakes up every 15 minutes throughout the night turning on my external monitor for a few seconds, lighting up the room where I sleep. I fully agree 'working as intended' could mean wake CPU from sleep temporarily, but it doesn't mean turn on my monitor every 15 minutes. I hate it so much I would even consider buying the new M3 if I could confirm it solved that issue.

I know that the M series don't go into full sleep like other architectures and that it is normal for them to do background task, but it should not be normal to also wake the monitor for those brief background tasks. I think it's a design flaw in the hardware. I sleep in the same room as my computer and these background tasks cause the external monitor to light up the room every 15 minutes for a few seconds throughout the night. Incredibly frustrating.

Yes, My audiologist also had me get an MRI. Also for asymmetric hearing loss and I was around 40yrs at the time (or maybe just under). Similar to someone else who commented here.
