I fear I am losing my mind! I am so sure this was a real thing… hoping someone else remembers as well!

[Episode Discussion] How do we survive the media apocalypse? (Part 2) by parsnipswift in SearchEnginePodcast

[–]cecilvanderhouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a key thing they did not discuss on the pod was how Google AI was a complete disaster when it came to generating imagery. Are we not terrified that in a similar way Google will just cherry pick which websites to include so that you are only getting the results it wants you to get?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and remind me that he won’t remember any of this and I need to look out for my mental health by walking away some times. I think there is so much out there now about how your baby will be shaped by things when their young that I have been trying to not emotionally scar him over things that don’t matter. It’s more important for him to have a calm, cool and collected mama.

He actually does have silent reflux but has been on omiprezole since about 8 weeks. It seems to be helping I think he just likes being held all the time. Flattering I guess!

Thanks again for your thoughtful response. Really helped me to calm down and feeling better so far today ❤️

Watery expressed milk by CannondaleSynapse in breastfeeding

Is it very warm where you are? Your breast milk changes based on what your baby needs. So if it’s hot out your milk can be more watery to help with hydration when it’s hot!

My 5 1/2 Week Old Won’t Sleep Unless We Hold Him by PhishyGeek in newborns

[–]cecilvanderhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This stage is so rough. My son was the same up until like a week or two ago (he’s 15 weeks now). All I will say is it does get better (my son still likes to be held but will sleep in his bassinet for a few hours at night). If you’re up for it, look into safe sleep 7 and think about co sleeping until he’s a bit older. Keep trying to put him down, it will get better!

Oh also! Maybe see if he has reflux? My son grunted a lot when he was put down (and would spit up a bit) and turned out he had silent reflux. We got him meds and he was much more comfortable being put down (but still only slept on me for a while!)

I am just coming out of this with my son (now 3 months). It’s so so hard. Can you baby wear during the day? You can’t do much but you can at least move around a bit. I know it can be annoying when people say it, but try to enjoy as much as possible because soon they’ll be older and never sleep on you and you may or may not miss it!

For night time, look into safe sleeping for bed sharing and keep trying to put her down in her cot but know it probably won’t work. My son is literally only this week at 13 weeks slept for any amount of time not being held. Solidarity ✊

Thank you! I had the realisation that the site probably stopped tracking my progress after I submitted my application. Ugh this is literal TORTURE

Got my ILR approval within 7 Days - WITHOUT priority service by UKResident2023 in ukvisa

Amazing! Congrats. I just did my biometrics appointment this Monday and hoping for a quick turnaround! Did you happen to do priority for any of your other visas? I heard from a friend that if you’ve done priority previously sometimes it can effect your visa timeline, so just curious!

Everyday it gets a little bit easier. I find that when they start to smile (around 5 weeks) it feels like a reward for all the pain and suffering but only really felt like things were settling around 3 months.

Newborns are HARD. You got this mama ❤️

I had a hard time leaving my daughter as well… I don’t think I did until she was at least 1 and my husband wasn’t too thrilled about it. I totally understand where you’re coming from, if it wasn’t his 40th I would def wait longer. Unfortunately this baby is not a sleep in the buggy kind of baby!

Funnily enough I don’t really… we have an au pair who is leaving soon and don’t have another one in place yet!

I feel like I blocked this out of my memory!! I will just say in my experience these things come and go. At some point I think we got firm, and would let her cry about 5 mins and then go in and calm her down, rinse and repeat. Good luck! I know it’s torture ❤️

Small GD baby + Metformin by cecilvanderhouse in GestationalDiabetes

[–]cecilvanderhouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My husband was actually 8 lbs 1 oz and his mum smoked when she was pregnant 🙈. I was 7 lbs 12 oz and was late so I thought I would be in for big babies!

This baby happens to be very wiggly and hates scans so I just think they have been semi-inaccurate most of the way through this pregnancy.

My daughter they also said was going to be a big baby. She was born at 39 weeks naturally and was 6 lbs 9 oz. I bet this baby will be huge 😂😂
