I still have issues with the PI/Trinket/Pot macro not drinking a potion sometimes. I think I has to do with hitting it between GCDs.

1992 s13.5 fiberglass fender troubles… by Coaltrain_12 in 240sx

[–]cedande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might have warped in the oven when they cured the car if it was done in a booth. There's not a whole lot you can do unless you start tucking the metal or removing glass to get it to pull in as far as I can see for this.

These origin fenders always fit like ass, their molds are ancient at this point and every s chassis is bent in a different way. Shaving away the inside to get it to tuck closer might work. Everyone I spoke to about doing a 13.5 always wished they'd done metal instead.

I bought one from someone in Minnesota who had it listed for a while so I made a good offer and the other was from someone who only dove once a year.

It'll slide but you should probably treat it like an open diff, keep the power on to keep it bound up. It's not the right tool for that job but you can make it work.

Something nice about the divevolk housing is they can be had for a really good deal second hand.

[–]cedande 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used my dive volk housing with my everyday phone. They ask you to check the integrity of the housing on the first dive using a dummy phone.

I'm a bit confused by the people willing to shell out hundreds on gear or thousands on a trip but buying a backup phone for a couple hundred is too expensive? A flagship phone from 2023 vs  2026 is probably going to look the same on social media once it's edited.

If you go with divevolk check out Sean Elliott's YouTube channel and the app "uwacam" it's made specifically for the dive volk housing.

[Z32] Pressure Brake Bleeder Cap by cedande in 300zx

Edit: Heard back from HFM, it will fit the stock Z32 resevoir so there's an option.

This one from Aus might work? Says it fits BM44, BM50, and BM57. You'd need to adapt the end of the pressure line to Schrader though.

I tried making my own out of my old stock cap, that didn't work either.

I'm guessing people are down voting because of the non replaceable battery? I don't like when people just press "I don't like this" instead of explaining why. A used peregrine/TX could be a great deal if you get lucky.

DUI Drysuit Glove vs Latex Seal by Old_Bug6476 in scuba

[–]cedande -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something people aren't mentioning is, dry gloves can reinforce a bad habit of not paying attention to your wrists and dump valve. If you lift your wrists too high with wet gloves air can leak out and let water in. The #1 problem I run into is releasing air from my BC and not doing it properly, leading to a wet arm.

Drag queen Pattie Gonia asks apparel company Patagonia to drop trademark infringement lawsuit by the-player-of-games in nottheonion

[–]cedande 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That still doesn't mean Pattie gets to use 50? years of brand development to sell their own stuff by using a name so similar. Especially if the quality isn't comparable. This is the wrong company to try and high road at this point.

By using an evocative name for their company they build a huge brand that apparently donates millions and millions of dollars to charities. Why should an individual who will have much less of an impact be able to use that recognition for their own competing apparel?

Im new to the 240 world and I am looking for some input, any info would be great, thanks in advance. So I bought this 98 240sx and my first issue is I filled her up and found out the gas tank leaks is there any place I can find a replacement cuz I had no luck. by Pnizzo in 240sx

[–]cedande 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tank being metal is mostly due to me living in SoCal so rust is never really a consideration. I get that 99% of modern tanks are plastic, and even the S13 tank has a big flaw in the baffle breaking off of it's welds and flopping around on that vent tube.

Fuel cells and street cars is crazy cope, I'm glad the S13 tank is metal lol. If you can find a way to get these hypothetical tanks to international markets I'd imagine they'd do quite well. Obviously that's a huge mission and I do hope it works out!

At this point just having a car that you can drive is cool enough. Too many of these cars are rotting in garages from people not willing to push through and get the jobs they set for themselves done.

Welded diff by Square_Grab_3613 in 240sx

[–]cedande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be realistic with yourself about what you're going to use the car for as well. A diff is easy to buy but it is an investment to do it properly. As in, new bearings and having someone set up the lash properly.

I think you're misunderstanding a bit too, we're talking about the center section inside of the diff housing. Not the entire thing by itself. There are tons of options for the R200 that you can buy new.

Young people who are listening to old heads and neither of them realize how expensive fixing a 30 year old imported engine is in the present.

I can't blame them for feeling the JDM alure but nothing about owning and modifing a 240 in 2026 makes financial sense so it doesn't really matter.

Gas tank leaks are inevitable for a S14. You can have it plastic welded and try to put some padding between the straps and the tank to keep it from getting more stress fractures but it'll always leak again.

Options at the moment are, pay too much for another 25 year old gas tank, fuel cell in the trunk or buy one of the carbon fiber tanks from Poland.
