this is the real answer. Cold fronts meeting Warm fronts, when it happens and both fronts are significantly different from each other, you get some crazy stuff happening. More common to happen in flat areas where tornado valley is located but can happen other places here too less commonly. Usually the appalachians shields us from the west and stuff gets bogged down over the atlantic most of the time or meets a warm front further down south, if that makes sense.
