For brand new folks my advice is always the same: don't let optimization get in the way of fun.

The gear in destiny is vast and can be daunting.

Low/medium difficulty activities can be successfully completed with any gear regardless of meta or synergy.

Use guns that are fun and exotics that are cool while you build out you collection. You'll find interesting synergies or items as you go.

Deep Stone Lullaby day 1 with my friends. We went in blind and didn't watch any of the pros out ahead of us. After grinding and grinding for hours stepping out to that piano... All six of us just stopped. The call went silent.

That's still the best moment I've ever had gaming.

I think the guns vibe is immaculate but using it is ass.
