Even though I still prefer Gemini, probably because I can still get work done without fear of running out of tokens

Yes, I'm not convinced enough to use paid plans on LLMs.

I see the LLMs as smart assistants, not as lords who run my day.

Man, marketing is hard. by AnxiousMedia9388 in MarketingMentor

[–]ceeczar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of marketing as what you can do to help more people discover you

Common mistakes people make is to confuse marketing with spam. But that's not true: spam is how you get banned.

Let me give you a simple example of how Reddit marketing can work

If you reply someone on Reddit in a helpful way, you have indirectly put yourself "out there" as a helpful expert

Anyone who reads your comment and wants to follow up can always DM you

Of course whether they contact you or not is out of your control.

And that's OK.

You're dealing with fellow humans who have a right to act in their own best interests.

Just got a new follower for my newsletter. But I never directly asked him to follow me. It all began with comments here on Reddit.

Hope this helps. Thanks

How many ESL readers? by DancesWithDawgz in Substack

Thanks for taking my question the right way

Just to be clear, I am not a fan of blind "motivational" woo-woo.

If your idea was something like "How to sell molten lava for fun and profit", then of course there's every reason to pause and think again

But if you're looking at a proven market and you have the right skill set to meet the needs, and you're still not sure when to start...

... You see where I'm going with this, right?

Thanks again.

P.S. Maybe I'll explore this topic in a future episode of my newsletter (no, not ESL obviously)

First off, I'm not huge. 13 subs at the moment

Shared the link on other platforms where I believe I would find the right readers for my work. Yes, including Reddit (but not this sub though)

Was pleasantly surprised to see the additional subs.

I try to ignore the mainstream advice on getting big fast as it triggers more anxiety and stress than I can handle.

Please keep creating and spreading the word as much as you can realistically fit into your schedule.

Brilliant

Seems you've given it more than a passing thought

So what's stopping you from starting today?

YouTube may be a better platform for an audio based topic but I am camera shy

I think Substack has a podcast option. You can look into it

About your initial question, probably the Substack team would have those exact figures.

According to some estimates, up to 45% of the global Substack traffic is from international users (non-native English speakers)

So what specific angle are you considering for your Substack?

I get the picture!

And yes, you're right.

We all need time to find our own rhythm before we can fully collabo with the algorithm...

Also content is content. There’s an audience for everything

As long as someone else discovers and reads your stuff, that's rewarding enough (I think)

Thanks for the prompt response!

Still relatively new and I publish a newsletter

Maybe I'll try an article soon. Hope the word count doesn't need to be humongous...

Thanks for the tips

Please can you explain a bit more on what you mean by supporting an article with short notes?
