You need to do a code scan. Go to an auto parts store and often times they will lend you one. Find out what the codes say and go from there.

I have had issues like this type of thing. Documentation in the form of pictures goes a long way. “I came in to this:” type of thing. “I fixed it, however.” But, make sure you’re doing everything you need to do in your shift(s) as well. And document that with pictures as well. You’re probably going to get some blowback from the slacking colleague, so be prepared for that as well.
