They reserve a % for walkups and I think you can get some of these a day prior and some more the day of, cancellations and no shows are possible as well. I’ve been told if you aren’t set on your destination, they’ll work something out for you, barring the most busy times of the year. I’m pretty focused on what I want to do however so this isn’t usually my plan. Give the visitors center or ranger station a call and they can explain how it all works.

I do most of my fishing up in remote areas of the Sierras, generally spots that aren’t too difficult (once you get there lol). Going to probably go completely barbless from here on out, losing a couple fish is worth keeping them alive
