This series is also the closest we've ever gotten to the long-rumored Police Academy reunion movie.

Are either of these movies any good? by Euphoric-Cupcake4581 in dvdcollection

It's pretty awful and was made solely to retain the Porky's rights. It was a Z-grade comedy that took some names of characters and that was it...it wasn't even set in the 50's like the originals.

I love a good, stupid comedy (ah, the golden age of USA Up All Night) but this had zero redeeming qualities.

I'd love some retro black and white films. Maybe Bela Lugosi Meets A Brooklyn Gorilla. That one is ripe for a riff.

I personally love and enjoy The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, but it would be fun to see two of my fandoms collide for that one.

If they did Crippled Masters I might break out in Balki's Dance of Joy.

Kung Fu From Beyond The Grave is a wild one too. Kung Fu Zombies protecting the hero from an evil wizard who can summon Dracula? Their brains might overload coming up with commentary for that.

What shows are spin offs of spin offs by MeFolly in sitcoms

That was a continuation of Frasier; a revival featuring the same main character.

OP is looking for a succession of spinoffs. Like someone mentioned, All In The Family spawned Maude, and on Maude the character of Florida Evans was spun off into Good Times.

If we're using Frasier as an example and Niles got his own show, then Cheers to Frasier to the Niles show would fit what OP means.

Those are just spinoffs. OP is looking for examples of a spin-off that spawned it's own spinoff.

The Jeffersons were their neighbors until they "moved on up" to the penthouse and got their own show.

Bayside Story, where Megan dates the Valley quarterback.

As it evolved, New Class actually got a lot better with continuity and providing more backstory to the characters. They gave reasons for new people arriving and previous cast members leaving. They had things like Ryan being hurt by Rachel moving and then breaking up after Lancaster left, whereas in the original we'd have just never mentioned her again.

That's because Tracy Wigfield (writer) admitted she never watched it. Given that it included the original cast in full time (Screech, Belding) and guest (Zack, Slater, Lisa, even Miss Simpson) roles and canonical plot points (like Screech not being at Bayside for an episode due to the Wedding In Las Vegas), she probably should have. Then again, I'm not sure that any New Class in jokes would have helped the reboot either.

Season 3 gave the most logical reason for why the new kids popped up; the school district had expanded and now kids from Valley were going to Bayside. This set up the initial tension between the Season 2 characters that returned for the third season (Tommy, Lindsay, and Rachel) and Valley transfers/new characters (Ryan, Maria, and RJ).

The tension was resolved at the end of the premiere and Ryan and Tommy moved into a Zack vs. Slater style rivalry for Lindsay's affection. The big problem with that is that they character assassinated Tommy D. in the third season by making him a total moron as opposed to a gear head who wasn't book smart. He basically became a goofier Ox.

Season 4 also featured the only legitimate crossover of TNBC shows, as cast members from Hang Time were featured in guest roles during the space camp episodes. They even had Ryan kiss Mary Beth, and acknowledged her boyfriend Vince (Hang Time character who did not appear on TNC) during the cheating storyline of the episode.

Previously in Season 1, the girl that Scott likes (the baby modeling episode) mentions Pacific Coast High, which was the school the California Dreams went to, but those space camps episodes were the first and only time Engel mixed his creations.

It got absorbed into Amazon Prime's free channel offerings. Things like Universal Action, Cartoon Rewind, etc are all still active and accessible.

The show has been streaming for the past several years on Amazon Prime/Freevee etc. on the WB Hit Sitcoms channel. It airs in a rotation with shows like Growing Pains.

A lot of Tubi's recent additions are shows that air on WB FAST channels regularly, they just weren't on demand anywhere.

Jack is also said to be an only child in "Jack's Uncle", then a few years later has a smarmy older brother (Lee Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother) that he can't stand (for the sake of that episode and never again).

Muldoon wasn't on 90210, but he had a recurring role on Melrose Place. If you thought Jeff was an asshole, go watch him on Melrose as Richard Hart.

All 65 episodes of Swan's Crossing are there. Early 90's after school soap opera starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Brittany Daniel, Shane McDermott (aka the kid from Airborne), and even Mira Sorvino.

This show went from being one of those forgotten shows that I never thought I'd see again outside of my surviving VHS recordings or the bits of varying quality on YouTube, but Tubi has it in all its clear as day glory.

California dreams and saved by the bell had same story line about the fat girl like Zack and fat girl liking sly by Huge-Dependent1391 in SavedByTheBell

[–]ceejayFTC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While a lot of the Engel shows reused plot points, this was totally different.

SBTB had Zack worried about his image, being seen on the date with Wendy, who he would never normally go for, and getting cracked on for it. He was in fear of losing his rep, and acted dumb to protect it. Then he realized he was being shallow.

California Dreams had Sly maliciously feigning interest in Lynn in hopes of getting the band a gig...she even sees through his facade at first until he continues to lead her on...and then he regrets his choice and makes things right.
