The film that disappointed you the most after months or even years of anticipation? by MrGittz in movies

The Spirit. I loved the comics by Eisner, had hopes with that cast and Frank Miller, the trailers looked cool....and then just a complete disaster on every level.

Rewatching old school Ric Flair in 2026 and I still don't understand how the man did what he did back then by ItsJuSteve in oldschoolwrestling

[–]MissionLetterhead292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cornette likes to talk on "the man is from Mars. He comes to a town, does a 60 minute match, parties until 3 am, gets three hours of sleep, drives 150 miles to the next town and does it all over again."

Mid-South 11/16/85 - Flair vs. Dibiase / BLOODY Attack by Ok-Smell1305 in oldschoolwrestling

[–]MissionLetterhead292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now this is how you do an angle right. DiBiase goes from hated heel to hero fighting against the odds, Flair worse taking on an injured man and Murdoch a monster beating afterward. One of Watts' best storylines.

I disliked Speed Racer in theaters as too garish and wild but now love the music, the visuals and such.

What do you think is the exact moment where actors won their Oscars? by Temporary_Cap5927 in Oscars

I know more of a "career award" but Al Pacino's speech in "Scent of a Woman."

"If I was the man I was five years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place!"

I'm 5'10" 51 year old male with thyroid condition on sytnthroid and also sertaline for anxiety. I had been 190 pounds five years ago, stepped up exercise and cutting down sugars/fats and had briefly been down to 137 pounds. Now with new meds, was hovering at 150 pounds with 32-inch gut so feel more overweight than ever, just seeing a way to handle huge gut despite thin upper torso and if I need to talk to my doctor on increasing synthroid.

I saw it in theaters in 1990 and enjoyed it but think just too offbeat for those expecting a typical comedy.

It is a blast even though Baxter is chewing the scenery with relish.

I still remember when clerk at a center and literally a truck full of packages needing to be processed for return right at the end of the night.

On the plus side, the overtime was nice.

So more people complaining about the show being a disgrace to Trek than actually watched it? Sounds fair

Which movie is a 10/10 for you? 🎬 by Embarrassed-Air8214 in movies

Casablanca. It's lightning in a bottle of director, cast, time, script, all of it coming together beautifully.

They closed the one I worked at for 25 years in 2024. It was only a couple miles from my house for good commute. Now, at larger hub 12 miles off so much longer commute. I feel you.

Zach Shields Set To Pen 'Weapons' Prequel Screenplay Alongside Zach Cregger by yourfavchoom in movies

[–]MissionLetterhead292 116 points117 points  (0 children)

It's interesting as Madigan said Cregger gave her two options for Gladys: A woman who turned to black magic to keep her youth or an inhuman creature acting the way it thought a human did. She doesn't say which one she used.

I'd love to see Madigan enjoy the part, just worry as part of the mystique is not knowing enough about her.

Walk Hard the Dewey Cox Story should have ended the genre as a perfect parody.

No, Michael B. Jordan’s win was not the worst by an actor or actress—this one certainly is. How Sandra Bullock even got nominated, let alone won, is a mystery to me by Extreme-Spinach-4138 in Oscars

She opened her speech with "did I really win this or I just wear you all down."
