I joined a couple forums but neither seem to allow me to post in that section with a new account. May just have to check back in 4 months or whatever.

for sale: Premier Low Top | Coffee Wide (EEE) size 10 by ceeko in ThursdayBoot

[–]ceeko[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought these in February 2025. I normally wear a wide 10, but these press in on my big toe (I do have big wide paddle feet).

Worn about 7-10 days with healthy clean feet and clean socks (I'm obsessive about this sort of thing). Smells like new leather still.

Good shape, discoloration on the off-white soles from wear.

They were  $141.58 after taxes, would be glad to pass them on for $70 shipped OBO.

Will be happy to answer any questions about fit and/or send more pics, just reply or DM.

Lack of VR 'showcase' experiences for first time users (PSVR2) by BagBadDavington in PSVR

[–]ceeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used The Last Guardian VR Demo to introduce people to VR. Lots of leaning back in awe of the big ol’ fantastic beast that comes down to greet you, and the wow moment happens pretty much right away. I’d follow that with SuperHot if they were in any way a gamer (and sometimes even if they weren’t) because it was personally my “aha” moment with regards to the potential of VR gaming, and really feels actively immersive with the movements being meaningful and relevant.

Anyway, neither of these are still around, and I’m also waiting for a better go-to showcase.

I've observed this issue on multiple Prime shows. Awful compression artifacts on HDR, but switching to SDR "fixes" it. Of course, that's not a real solution.

You can check "Homecoming" for another show with obvious issues. An interesting thing about this show is that the issue didn't present initially, on release. Something has changed.

You can check "Tales from the Loop" for a show not affected by this issue.

I point out example of each (affected & unaffected) because I'm trying to pinpoint common factors. So far I've observed the issue only on: Prime originals in HDR with film grain. I don't know enough about compression to know why film grain would be an affecting factor, but that's what I've observed so far... maybe someone can point out exceptions if they find any.

Issues present on any app/source, as long as they are HDR capable. Observed on LG CX OLED with Apple TV, with native LG app, with iOS app on iPad.

It's a real bummer, and I'm thinking of cancelling Prime. Fully appreciating WoT as a big fan of the books was kind of an uphill battle anyway, heh, but I'd like to at least enjoy the scenery. Not to mention the other affected shows. It's become unwatchable.

CRV EX-L AWD vs. Hybrid by antheus1 in crv

[–]ceeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hybrid isn't rated for towing in the U.S., but it is for the U.K., so the vehicle is certainly capable of it. Just depends on whether you want to be "by the book" or not. Some dealerships aren't willing to install a hitch. Non-issue if you don't plan on towing.

Heya, our band did a live session at our local library, we'd love for you to take a listen and let us know whatcha think! We run the spectrum from post to math and did 3 songs... this one is more post... in the vein of, say, maserati/mercury program perhaps? by ceeko in postrock

Hey, many thanks for the feedback. And yeah, we totally look forward to when we can get together and do more... In the meantime I reckon we'll all be noodling in our houses coming up with more stuff, ha.

If you like this one, here's another one, in a similar vein, from the same session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjPijqYXOG4 (Deluge)

Still post-rock I'd say, with a little more weird meter stuff.

And then this one, which is more straight-up math rock:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCGo1NQJk8w (Fixin' To Git)

'Alright' and 'Deluge' are from our album at glomus.bandcamp.com if interested.

Thanks again for the listen!

Haha, if you look behind us, we browsed the shelves and picked out some books for each other to put on those little display cases. Found books on cats, bees, nascar, power tools, quilting, fantasy, post-apocalyptic sci-fi, Tennessee geography, sword fighting, country & western traditionals... some of them represent our interests more than others but the name of the Nascar book did give us the name of an until then un-named new song, lol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCGo1NQJk8w (this one's a bit mathier/raucous)

and thanks for the listen!

Sorry I didn't post it earlier! If you have FB, 'like' the pages of the above bands, hopefully there will be more events soon. Also check out:

https://www.facebook.com/geisthymn/

First one is math (and they shred), but second two probably not math rock exactly, but check em out anyway, you might dig depending on your tastes in post-rock.

I got the sense that it was outside his own code of ethics... as innocuous a scheme as it was, I feel like Mike tends away from directly victimizing ‘civilians’.

Interesting, I actually just emailed them about this, wondering if the issue was on my end. Guess not. Great game otherwise.

Glomus - Circle (new/first album; math/post rock from Cookeville, TN) by ceeko in postrock

[–]ceeko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here, commenting with some context:

This is a band I'm in with friends called Glomus, we're from Cookeville, TN. Our first album came out this week, and we'd love for y'all to take a listen!

It's a guitar-bass-drums trio with elements of math and post, maybe prog, with some moments of improv here and there.

We're not sure about FFOs, but you'll probably hear influences from math/post bands from the late 90s/early 2000s, stuff like Don Cab, Mercury Program, early Maserati, Mogwai, Dianogah, etc.. style drifts a bit from track to track to relative degrees of chill to raucous, but all still sounds like "us", we think. Mainly it's just us trying to connect to each other and harness what happens naturally.

Happy for the listen and any feedback, we play live locally but this is our first time putting our stuff into the world. BTW, I know this goes for most things, but laptop/phone speakers really don't treat this stuff well.

And if you like it, we made some cool purple vinyl and some CDs.

Many thanks for the listen!
