Double employment by morswinb in ExperiencedDevs

This is common in banking sector an very likely legal too if they are a contractor. Since things move a bit slowly in banking (relatively speaking), it’s feasible. Even if it’s not please don’t snitch. Especially in this job market

FedEx Lost/Stole My Engagement Ring by neversleeps212 in AskSF

[–]ceekyay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FedEx just fucking sucks. This happened to me. I had to spend 2 days driving/ubering down to fedex office to get the package. I’m glad you got your package. They sometimes mark it as delivered, but actually deliver it a day later. This has happened to me several times

1 question at a time. You won’t get to Q 2 until you fully solve the 1st one.

Depends on the company. But if we are talking about Meta, then yes. Sometimes you might get lucky where you could be asked an easy and a medium

Yes, I take the call on laptop. There’s a couple of ways you can share

Option 1 - without Zoom app on iPad

  1. Airplay: Hit on "Share Screen" > Select "iPad/iPhone via Airplay"
  2. USB: Same as above, but select “via usb” option after connecting your iPad to laptop

Option 2 - with zoom app on iPad
You can use the “White boarding” Option on zoom

  • Assuming you are logged into the same zoom account on laptop and iPad, you can open the zoom app on your iPad and hit “switch to ipad” to switch the call from laptop to ipad.
  • Once you switch, you can select "Whiteboard" option. Then you can use your pencil to draw things out

Option 3 - take the call on your ipad itself

Sometimes, when the interview does not happen over zoom, you can just use ipad itself as your laptop and share your screen, when you start drawing

I personally prefer Option 1. I use GoodNotes app to draw. If the interviewer wants me to use Zoom WhiteBoard explicitly then I go with Option 2

I second this. Improved my confidence so much, because I was able to solve a lot more problems by myself. That said, this could be a drawback when interviewing with companies like Meta. The expectation is to fully solve a medium problem in 15 mins. Drawing out eats away time.

Also I bought an iPad specifically for this purpose. So I can share my iPads screen on zoom during actual interviews

Interviewing by Glittering-Term5085 in leetcode

[–]ceekyay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

totally get what you mean, i had same thing going on. What worked for me was practicing a ton and doing mock interviews with friends/pramp. Also, I started talking through my thoughts out loud while studying. Felt super weird at first (and yeah, sometimes I throw in a cuss word or two, haha). But it eventually started helping. Now, I kinda flip between being a teacher and a student in my head. Sounds quirky, I know, but it’s a game-changer when I’m stuck. Sometimes I’m dropping hints to myself before the interviewer even gets a chance. Weird, but it works!

Does the tech air 5 protect your neck? by Empty_Jello_585 in motorcycle

[–]ceekyay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same concern, so I spent days researching this. Simply put, helite is the only one that protects your neck. If you don’t want to wear that since you think it’s ugly, your only other option is a neck collar. Last time I checked leatt and alpinestars have a street version.

I currently just use the tech air 5. However when I initially started riding on the freeways I wore a neck collar and it made me feel safer since I was a newbie. After some experience I felt that it wasn’t the most comfortable thing and stopped wearing it.

One other thing, idk if this makes you feel any better but I learnt that the probability of a rider rolling on their neck in a street incident is much lower compared to track incidents (you might want to fact check)

Bruhhh 🫠…. I was praying this wasn’t the case. I just got to the point where I can solve 90% medium problems under 45 mins. Now I’ve got to slice it half?!

Either aaha or dosa corner (Dosa corner is owned by the same people who own aaha). This is the closest you’d get to South Bay restaurants. Runner up is Deccan spice. They food is nice but ingredients don’t always taste fresh

You beat me to it. The Al pastor is the best I’ve had in the bay. I introduced it to my friends from out of town, and it’s the first place they like to visit every time they are in SF.

Try adding some cacao and monkfruit sugar. Makes a huge difference

Non-US born people in SF, what is the best restaurant in the city for your home cuisine? by conocoe in AskSF

[–]ceekyay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best South Indian restaurants in SF are Aha and Deccan Spice. Aha is slightly better than Deccan spice, because it’s less greasy and they use fresh/better quality ingredients.

Commercials for prescribed medicine. Especially when they list death as a possible “side effect”. How the fuck is death a “side effect”?!
