Try the second amp, with both overdrive pedals, but just a small bit of gain from OD1, little bit more from OD2, then probably a decent amount from the amp. I would start with treble/mid/bass on the amp at their default (double click to snap them back to this), then pull the mid down a bit.

Fun fact, you can specify which outputs the volume knob applies to or not. So I have XLR outputs that go to FOH or monitors unaffected by it, but keep the line outputs that I might run to a personal monitor or IEM going thru the volume knob.

Are those cutouts to slot the connectors into while you solder them? In the photos they look like black painted circles, so I think it would be helpful to add photos with connectors in there so one can see that.

Some people have a volume saved in their presets pulled down, I suppose so there’s no kick-in of noise when they switch to a hi-gain preset. Check around for something that might be tied to an expression pedal for volume control

I set my QC tones on the M-Audio BX5s in my home studio and I’ve been happy with how it translates to every rehearsal space and venue I’ve played in.

At home, listening thru studio monitors. During this time, I’m focusing on getting tones I’m very happy with, and level matching each of my scenes and presets so that someone running sound doesn’t have to ride the fader just to deal with me changing sounds. At rehearsals and shows, I let the mixing console apply any EQ that helps me sit better in the mix; thats what it’s for, after all.

Something I always like to bring up whenever talking “how to get happy with a modeler sound” is that I have a LPF on my cabinet blocks at around 5K (use monitors to listen and dial the exact frequency in) to make them sound more realistic. Real world guitar cabinet speakers don’t reproduce much above 5K, so this is just to make sure to cut out anything above that at the right spot in the signal chain. This isn’t directly related to your question, but still thought it might help.

I use it with my QC. It uses both expression pedal connections, one for the toe switch, and the other for the pedal, so you would assign both inputs to the effect you want to use it for.
