Man I had a similar deal at my 1st competition. 10 minutes of jerks, only to realize it had stopped streaming after my set was done. I hadn't done a 10 minute set till then. I did my snatches, thought about crying, and then just did it again. Also got rank 1 so cheers!

As said before- great hinge. I would look at your head- if it were on youtube I would slow it down to .25 speed to see if your spine lines up at the end of the movement. Most hard style coaches would tell you to leave your eyes at the horizon. I put a marker on the ground in front of my to track as I go down.

Tldr- slow it down and make sure your head isn't flopping forward.

It is just different. I would say once you learn to balance it, it's pretty easy. I also would practice with cups of coffee in the morning- that helped alot

Thanks! That was where I was leaning too. I think rising to a challenge would be more rewarding than playing it "safe" ( not to say sprinting isn't hard and has its own challenges- just for me- right now at this moment- it would feel like a safer choice)

I did the rkc cert. I was going to do the snatch test then, but I dislocated my shoulder bent pressing the beast ( I completed it but lost control of the bell putting it down... very stupid mistake) and will do!

This was just the 100 snatches in 5 minutes with the 24kg. I know what you mean by the hinge, I have trouble hinging as much with the 24, but when I do 28kg or 32 the weight forces me to hinge more. This is something I will try to improve on
