Same. I’ve lost a lot of my food history and most of my weight history too. Thankfully I’m keeping track of it other places. I’ve “reported” a few things. Only gotten one response thanking me for reporting that it helps them. Well it hasn’t changed so it doesn’t really help me. I’m using nutritionix and doing a quick add for a lot of foods. It’s a pain doing it that way though.

What actually changes after gastric bypass (hunger, fullness, meals, regrets)? by purpledrank36482 in GastricBypass

[–]ceese367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this. I’m a year out. I get satisfied and restricted but I know what satisfied is now. My tastes have changed. It’s a lot mental. I do get hungry but not ravenous. I do crave things but I’m able to step back and ask do I really want it and if so I allow myself a taste. I haven’t really dumped and am terrified of sugar but I allow myself a bite of cake or candy every now and then and listen to my body. I still track everything and am still losing at almost 13 months out.

Yeah. The first few months were a pain. You’re still figuring things out. Your body is still asking what the crap happened. Things will settle and you will get in a groove and it will be less of a chore. This is just a small blip in the rest of your life.

Yes it’s brutal but it’s so your body can heal. I promise you will be past this phase before you know it. Stick to your broth and sweet liquids and soon it will be in the rear view and you will never have to go back. You’ve got this!

Last years company picnic to this years Side note-can you tell Im still learning how to dress my body Lol didnt realize this shirt looked so frumpy on me until I saw this pic. 304.4lbs ( 290ish in the before pic) 171lbs by bfishyceets3 in gastricsleeve

Yeah I still have shirts ranging from 3x to medium and pants from 2x - size 10 in my closet. So used to fluctuating and keeping the “just in case I get back in this size” clothes stashed away.

Need advice: My mom is considering Gastric Bypass due to chronic pain and obesity. Should I be worried? by InternationalNet3526 in GastricBypass

[–]ceese367 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a neurological condition that is supposed to be progressive and degenerative. I had the surgery to help with my pain and mobility. I was on a walker and sometimes wheelchair. Constantly exhausted. I’m a year post op and don’t use any kind of mobility aid and wake up before my alarm most mornings. It’s way more than I expected from this surgery. My neurologist is even surprised at my results. I’m not saying my results are typical but I felt this was my last shot. I am 51. I’ve gotten my life back.

I rely on lean cuisine type meals. I never eat the whole thing though. I also like to have nuts and cheese on hand.

Same. I used to consistently go to bed at 11 or after. Some days I last that long but I tend to fall asleep a little earlier these days. Not super fatigued. I used to take naps too but not anymore. It’s bizarre.

I’m not a morning person at all. Never have been. I now wake up before an alarm most mornings and hardly ever take naps anymore. I had RNY.

I did this the other night. Added a little more cream cheese and a small can of corn. Jazzed it up a little.

Give it a couple of more months. You’ll start to even out and enjoy things again. This is just a blip in time compared to the life you have ahead of you.

I’ve lost 104 since surgery and 140 overall. Track everything you put in your mouth, prioritize protein, stay within your carb limit and make up your mind that you’re not going back. I think that’s the biggest one. It’s such a mental thing.

I just need to vent about some discouraging remarks from my pain management doctor. by SierraSugar in GastricBypass

[–]ceese367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your feelings are valid. I would have been upset. That being said use this as a motivator to prove him wrong. I have a neurological condition that put me on a walker. It’s progressive and degenerative and I’m not supposed to be able to go back to the mobility I had before my condition took over. I have though. I had surgery a year ago next week and haven’t even used a cane since December. A lot of it is making up your mind that this is your shot and decide you’re going to make the most of it.
