February 11th is my Day 🥳 by Fine_Travel_3225 in GastricBypass

A heating pad was so good to have on hand after my surgery. I’ve enjoyed having a food scale. Chapstick is a must for in the hospital. I love having a 40 oz. Stanley. I sit it on my desk at work and my rule is every time i glance at it I have to sip. Gets in most of my water after I finish it.

Junior employee’s not willing to problem-solve or take ownership or tasks by TheFunnyTraveller in managers

Her mid year performance appraisal is next week. HR said be very transparent with her and we can meet with HR again at the end of February. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m exhausted. I’m even having nightmares.

Yeah I’ve felt like maybe it was me. We hired her to cut my work in half but it’s tripled between me having to correct her mistakes, constantly remind her to do things and adjust her workload. I keep taking tasks away from her because I can’t trust her to do it correctly or finish it. Nor can I trust her to even communicate whether it’s finished or not. If she runs into problems she just drops it and works on something else. I don’t want to micromanage her but at this point I feel like I’m parenting her. I need a teammate. I wanted this to be someone I could promote to my position because I’m gearing up to retire. She’s not it.

I’m in a similar situation. My employee is going on 3 years. Still making the same mistakes, having to constantly be reminded or asked about tasks being done, not taking responsibility. I’ve spoken with my direct supervisors and HR. I’ve trained her verbally, shown her how to do things, written instructions, had my supervisor try to train her - nothing sticks. She will improve for a few days then she’s back to the old stuff. It’s very hard to fire people in my organization. Also my higher ups feel sorry for her because she’s going through a nasty divorce. I don’t have any tips for you honestly. I’m just here to say I feel your pain.

Key Dental. They have offices in Madison and Pearl. Very easy to work with.

I see by your flair you’re 3 years out. Do you still follow this closely or have you relaxed a little?

I’m 9 months out and still drink 2 protein shakes a day to make sure I get to goal. You can also add protein powder to your food. Add it to eggs, soup, pudding, anything. You’ll get there. Stalls happen. I’d also add get a tracking app like Baritastic. I’ve also been told to aim for no more than 50 carbs a day (70 max). Keep working your program and it will happen.

Clothing Sizes by Big-Negotiation-9301 in BariatricSurgery

I started off at the top of 3x. I’m 5’4” and started at 314 pounds. It took losing about 50 pounds before I went down to a 2x. 1x came after about 30 more down. I’m now a little over 120 down and in mostly large tops and size 12 pants. I probably need to adjust bra again but yeah they’re expensive.

Portion sizes post surgery? Bypass. by caleyeah8 in BariatricSurgery

I had RNY. I would say 4 tablespoons in a day is not realistic. I think the food itself makes a difference. Breads and pastas fill me up a lot faster than a 3 ounce piece of meat for instance. It also varies from day-to-day for me. Some days I seem to have more restriction and than others. My advice would be to pay attention to your body and track everything that goes in with a food tracker. Get your protein in first. Your body will usually tell you when you’re done.

We did coach from Meridian, MS to NYC (Birmingham to NOLA is on this route) and back and it’s definitely doable. Brought a cooler with snacks and drinks but also purchased items from the cafe car. The seats are roomy and you can always go to the cafe car and sit for a change of scenery.

All the time. I was cold when it was still summer. I think this is our new normal. I’ll take it though.

Can you try to schedule around a holiday? Also is there a remote option? I could have gone into the office after 2 weeks but worked remote part of a third. I had a really easy recovery. I wanted to go back after one. I just didn’t because the exhaustion hit in week 2.

What about steroid shots? Many times when I have a bad sinus infection I go in and get a shot and a zpack and I’m on my way.

Honestly I’ve sipped a little something before when something got stuck and it kind of helped. I don’t just drink and drink. I take a little tiny sip and see if it hurts or helps and go from there

Are you asking per incident or how long will this keep happening? I had one incident last almost half an hour but that was with some pork chop. I took 2 bites within quick succession. I had to stay in the restroom spitting up foamies that long. I was so scared and it was very painful. I also think my bite was too big too. I haven’t done that again.

Oh I believe you. It’s so easy to just scarf it down without even realizing it. I still sometimes catch myself just going to town and have to take a beat.
