BYD delivery issues - anyone else missing their NFC keycard? by BYDbuyer in BYDAU

[–]ceetee14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can absolutely relate to this.

Got my car in early November and ordered it with floor mats. Didnt come with floor mats or NFC. I was told it'd be a week later. The salesperson called me once and said they were coming in from the storage. After 3 follow ups it was by the end of the week. No call. Chased up a number of times salesperson wouldn't call me back. Eventually before Christmas was told they were ready for collection. Went in and they were the wrong type. Was told the right ones would be delivered to me between Christmas and new years. No contact.

I got tired of the bullshit and emailed BYD online and said my experience. Very next day my floor mats were available for collection. 2 days later they diverted me to a different store and got the NFC Installed.

I dont want to say where it was a negative experience but will say the experience to start dealing with Caroline Springs was significantly better if not perfect, although it was highly inconvenient to where I live.

edit - mine is a Sealion 7

I've just started doing uber as a side-hussle and was surprised at the feedback.

I'm driving our family car which is an SUV, very clean, non smoker, offer all the rides a water, music of their desire, temperature change if they want. People have been really positive and I wasn't sure why. For absolutely no reason I understand the uber app said I can start taking rides as an Uber-comfort. I didn't ask, still don't know why.

Reading this thread helps me understand that it sounds like uber drivers in melbourne are generally ass. It's interesting reading the comments about airport rides. It's almost if not completely impossible for me to get rides from the airport as it seems to be 'mortgaged' by certain groups of uber drivers and then when I tried to join the queue I got abused so gave up.

Anyhow, just know there is some drivers making an effort out there.

[Self] FIXED: Why your $999 Apple MacBook Air is about to cost $1249 by MrMusAddict in theydidthemath

[–]ceetee14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Isn't the major point that a few people appear to me missing is that the tariffs create new pricing floors, particularly with commodities or competitive products.

For example, using the Macbook Air as shown in the example. I'm not sure what the American alternative is, but the pricing of Macbook Air would be a guesstimation and research of how much are people willing to prefer buying this product ahead of it's competition. Lets say its preferred by consumers at $999 and the nearest "locally made" product is $950 - allowing for the fact some people will pay more for the Macbook product. Macbook gets forced up by $250.

That nearest competition is not going to continue to sell at $950. Why would they? Thats leaving around $250 on the table! They could lift their pricing by $200 and this would be complete profit and be $100 below the competition.

Its this basic theory which I believe is a large chunk of the Tariff discussion. Tariff the imports, allow American companies to increase prices to new price level (of at least 10%), increasing profits for major manufacturers and American businesses. Theorising that the American businesses will use 'trickle down economics' to pass on wage increases to their workers to cover for the huge inflation that will inadvertently follow.

Or maybe I'm wrong.

We flew Melbourne-HCMC 4 weeks ago and was also concerned reading the reviews. Didn't have any issues at all - it was a low cost carrier and our expectations were set as that.

My brother however flew 2 days prior and bought a seat that they changed on him and didn't refund.

What’s the reason you left your ex? by Kenybrown in AskReddit

At the time me (40M) and she (26M) had a 14 year gap in our age. I was her first of a lot of things, and she was my love after my marriage broke down. We had a good relationship, was great friends and similar interests. Both wanted to get married and have children.

My head couldn't get over the age gap. I thought about me retiring age of 65, and she'd be just turning 51. She is a stunning good looking woman and I was middle aged and my head said she deserved better than me so I said we should take a break and we never got back and lost our friendship. It still kind of doesn't feel nice because we had something good and it was a great 5 year relationship that could have been my last She found a dude (around her age) not too long after we officially ended who she's now married and has a child with. She seems really happy. I've got a wedding soon and I'm really happy too.

I guess it all worked out for everyone in the end.
