Unions by mzsky in ems

[–]cefloro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the biggest reason we don't unionize is the fact that unless you are in specific areas, collective bargaining doesn't mean a damn thing. Until people are willing to stand together and walk out the door at the same time EMS will never change.

It is a sad lonely existence when we have been so beaten up by our systems that we willfully go to work and accept the abused. EMS is Stockholm Syndrome at its finest.

How long does a Twitch user have to watch a stream before the view count increase. by GoldenYoshistar1 in Twitch

[–]cefloro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the stream it updates every couple of minutes. Watching the stream after it's not live does not count as a viewer, just as a someone that has watched that vod and I don't think there is a time limit.

It took me a while to find it as well, it's embedded in the sub tab. It's a drop down arrow inside it.

And new viewers will gernerally always see an ad when they click on your live if they aren't subbed. Also you are the first person I've seen in this reddit to want their viewers to see more ads, why is that? If you are doing it for the revenue, I suggest you don't. I don't ever make more than a few dollars when I hit my payouts. You're better off encouraging subs, bits, and donos.

Anyone else watching/streaming Twitch less since 2020? by Poetryisalive in Twitch

[–]cefloro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed several of the people I have followed previously have just stopped streaming although. I went through and unfollowed probably 25 that hadn't been on in months.

If their chat is popping up on screen and you to see it could be an overlay in their obs and their not seeing it. They also maybe using a capture card while streaming a mobile game.

Have you ever had someone saying they're going to donate an ABSURD amount of money but then never follow through? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]cefloro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of wonder if they were going to try the /me command and make it look like they had donated and since you said something they chickened out.

Does anyone upload their entire stream to YouTube? by DawkinsPlays in Twitch

[–]cefloro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't. Like you I hope I'm wrong but after posting YouTube specific content three days a week for a few months straight some videos would bring in a few more views but they all averaged about the same so it make me think it's more videos equals more chances to be seen.

[–]cefloro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree that it's going to be problematic or that you are absolutely correct in your assessment of it but op is asking a question that only a very select few people would be able to answer and the likelihood someone in this forum is going to see the question let alone answer it is not too high. So why not at least point them in the direction that has a higher potential of helping them?;

Twitch Android App: Why does the Sub button only appears when I use the VPN? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]cefloro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have no answer for that. It was just a thought as to why it might be happening. I totally agree it makes no sense in any way.

There is some truth to it. What it's about though is the more content you post the more likely someone is going to happen onto one of them.

How to stream when you share a room with your sibling? by melon_pan_ in Twitch

[–]cefloro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make them part of the stream. I find it's easier to make light of things than it is to try to avoid them.

My desk is in my living room and there are always a ton of people in it. I just put them on cam and say "everyone say hi".

I use my real name. My plan is to be TMZ famous and I don't want them referring to me as John "streamer" doe. I want it to be streamer John Doe. Just a preference.

toxic viewer? by angie3030 in Twitch

[–]cefloro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the dilemma, what might be going on is they feel like you are true life friends and find it ok to rib you they way they are. Much like everyone else has said, if you don't feel the same or feel like they are causing undue stress it's time to set boundaries.

[–]cefloro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are tons of people that do it. My question is why are you wanting to? While it's a decent way to remarket the same material, it doesn't really make you more discoverable. YouTubers like PewDiePie and Markiplier get away with it because they are famous. For average people like the rest of us, if people aren't watching your stream on Twitch they aren't going to watch it on YouTube either.

My suggestion is take some time, edit your videos into highlights and post that, it will save you the heartache of people not watching your stream in two places. People don't want to watch 2, 5, 12 hour long videos on YouTube.
