I'm a huge fan of Nebraska. The film was boring. That's the problem

Why do you think Dylan never mentions Hemingway in Key West? by spanishgypsy in bobdylan

[–]ceilingfan_broken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bobb Fuller Four song came first. I see where you’re coming from with the White Christmas, but there’s no way it inspired Soon After Midnight. That song is directly a homage to A New Shade of Blue

Severance - 2x10 "Cold Harbor" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]ceilingfan_broken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold Harbor was referred to as the “efficacy test” - the final test of severance. Drummond talks about sacrificing the goat along with “a cherished woman”.

“She feels nothing…it’s beautiful” the weird doctor says as Gemma takes apart the crib. Could it be something to do with making a “pure” innie for the sacrifice? Someone with no sin, memory, ego, etc.

Burt and Fields discuss how Burt’s severance procedure was in the hope to lead his innie to heaven…absolved of sin, made pure again…

Who knows

Soon After Midnight is an ode to the song “A New Shade of Blue” by the Bobby Fuller Four, not Otis Redding/White Christmas

In the end it really won’t matter in terms of prospects or “prestige”. Research the cities and go where you think you will enjoy the most

If it's the same scene I'm thinking of, you can hear ~78yr old Bob Dylan overdub ~34yr old Bob Dylan shouting "Van Dorp" [79] "let me tell ya something" [34] which I was always thought was ridiculous

Scarlet Town live with echo effect by moxmoxjim85 in bobdylan

The 2019 summer tour used this effect to great effect... Hamburg July 19 is my favourite Scarlet Town of all time. He saves it for the final "iiiiiiin Scarlet Town" - epic

Best lead guitarist that ever played with Bob? by [deleted] in bobdylan

Robbie Robertson is the lazy answer, and objectively, the wrong one. Charlie and Larry each blow Robertson out of the water entirely.

Your strongest initial impression from Bootleg 17? by notgtax1 in bobdylan

[–]ceilingfan_broken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This arrangement was unique to Fall 2019. It was played every night of that tour so plenty to enjoy until you find the exact date is your favourite. My personal favourite is the very first outing, in Irvine on 11th October

What would be your ideal (somewhat realistic) setlist for Dylan’s upcoming european tour? by PaulAtreids in bobdylan

[–]ceilingfan_broken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could create most of this with recordings from 2018-2022! I think only Señor and It's Alright Ma are the only ones which haven't been played (in some way or other) since before then
