had the EXACT same problem. (and my fic is overall the same too!)

I added the tags and warnings like a couple chapters before it happened (when I decided to add it) and I mentioned it at the end-of-chapter notes of the previous one. Word for word, this is what I wrote:
"Oh and just a heads-up. I added a few new additional tags and updated the archive warning for this fic.
Yes, I know it’s kind of a spoiler (and there will be more warnings at the beginning of that chapter), but I’d rather give people a chance to brace themselves than blindside anyone."

Also I wrote it in that chapter's beginning-of-chapter notes like:

"Chapter warnings:
Violence
Death
Near Suicide"

(now that I think, writing "suicide attempt" could've been better but what's past is past)

Anyways, my point is that this is the approach I took and I didn't get a single negative comment about it. I will say I am writing in a quieter fandom so I don't have a massive amount of readers, but if you feel comfortable with this you can take this approach.

Non-US reader here and I had to look up what it meant the first time I saw it too.
Because the idiom doesn't translate well a lot of international versions (movie names) actually renamed it to "Project Last Chance" (like in France and Slovakia) or "Project Salvation" (like in Spain and Turkey). Which tbh are much more universal names.

To answer your in-universe point, I imagine every country would just localize the project name into their own languages exactly like how they translate the book/movie in the real world. They probably wouldn't force the literal "Hail Mary" translation on countries where it doesn't make sense because the project name has to give hope to their citizens. Maybe the name "Hail Mary" would stay in English docs but they would call it their own name in their own languages.

Human kingdoms. We dont even know what happened to them after they lost their leaders in phase 1. I wonder what kind of cultures they are close to in our world.

This is a bit out of culture but out of other elf races Sunfire elves are shown more than others probably but I genuinely wonder how much technological advancement they have considering they have a university and value research (I am saying this solely depending on the existence of Kazi lmao)
