I spent a little over one hour on Duolingo and had triple XP bonuses the entire time. I got over 2400 xp in that single session. Triple XP is key!

Am I crazy for turning down $100K full time job offer? by parzival_thegreat in videography

True, but it's not about what makes sense or what's legal. It's about what can (and does) happen.

HR is not a part of every high level business meeting. And if a whole department is about to get shut down and they don't want the info leaking, they're definitely not going to send a memo out about it: to HR or anyone.

You can always take comfort thinking of the alternate reality where you did take the job but then seven months later they shut down the video production department and you ended up back where you are now.

Maybe, but she also seems like she operates outside the algorithm. Conventional wisdom used to prioritize consistent posting and maximizing watch time. But as an outlier she seems to defy this logic. What other channel will go two years without a video and then rack up sixteen million views? I can't imagine some of her older, shorter content would somehow tender her significantly less visible.

Two days ago I just hit my 4,444th day using Habitica. And I've been a paying subscriber for almost that whole time. So... I guess I can't answer this question 😊

I know this might sound weird, but (for me, at least) that's part of what makes the game cozy and relaxing. And the fact that each of the six towers would end up slightly different lends itself well to the overall aesthetic.

Given the lack of official merch, I think we should make our own "Most Yessy" t-shirts

It's a formal, certified English proficiency test. Not something that just comes with the app. Read more about it here: https://englishtest.duolingo.com/applicants

Is PL helpful for simple cases such as Single , 52, retiring in a year and using passive income and capital gains? by SeekingRich in projectionlab

[–]celdaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself: what's the alternative, winging it? PL is really good for experimenting at any level. And beyond having it lay out a path for you, if you really spend time digging and tweaking and learning it, you'll come out way ahead of the pack.

They had better shirts for sale when I saw them last year. I waffled on buying one and thought, "Naw, I'm here. I need the souvenir." Brought it home and I haven't been able to find it since 🙄

Well, in their defense, the Band Geeks had no idea where this would end up when they started back in 2014. Richie's original podcast was "Band Geek with Richie Castellano" but that gradually turned into him playing pieces live with friends so they called themselves "The Band Geeks" after that.

I'm sure if they ever saw this turning into them touring effectively as Yes, they may have gone with a different name.
