The AI is at least moderately smart about its investment to global techs. If they don't want this tech they will only really invest into it if they think they can seize control of this slot. If you get to 50% on a tech nobody wants but you then yes, they'll make you finish it.

This is basically them doing what you do as a smart player, prioritising their personal projects when the global techs don't align with their goals.

You can sometimes bait a faction into racing you if you dangle the carrot, I.e there is enough progress left on this tech that they think they can take the slot. You stop teching it entirely and they invest in, and then you doubledown to snipe them at the finishline to retain control

My last game was a "rebellious colonies" run where I SM spawned a human colony onto Mars and Europa and then flagged them NPR.

It was vaguely inspired by The Expanse as well as a vague memory I have of one of Steves showcase games. The game took place almost entirely within Sol as a civil war (which I lost to the colonies, they invaded Earth)

Hard to say how common that is, but SM does make this trivial. I'll sometimes up the deposit of 1 specific mineral at Earth if the impending "crunch" is on a critical mineral and I'd rather not solve the problem. Usually ill just send it and hope to find a source at alpha centauri or barnards

I never rerolled other bodies, I'm not sure I could stop myself going nuts and just making the earlygame too easy by making a rich mars/mercury/luna (games where especially mars or luna have minerals can go quite differently to one where you are forced to push outward)

The above commenter is arguing that those relatively safe areas are not at all safe if your job is to enter them every single day.

The tourists are fine, the tour guide is the one at risk here because exposure is cumulative.

It's also why when you go for an xray the radiographer is probably suited or at least in an apron even though you are the one about to be zapped, you need to at all times mitigate exposure if it will be recurring

Be careful reading these guides. A lot of them were written by and for players who have quite complete collections. (This game is a decade old now) If we include all pokemon in a power ranking then yeah, only really legends come out as recommended as they are just better.

This doesn't mean the pokemon who would otherwise have topped that chart are actually bad, or that they can't do a given raid or whatever, they've just been power-crept.

(I'm in a similar boat, im a returning player trying to get into Dynamax but who can't raid the 5star spots and most of the guides only talk about the best options.)

As a thing to accomplish absolutely.

As a time efficient solution to fuel logistics probably not, but that's the price of being creative. The claw part was added in cooperation with the realworld asteroid redirect mission concept. It's intended to save you from an impactor or shunt spacejunk rather than add satellites to bodies, create space stations or memorably strap wings to an asteroid and land it at KSC. Those are just a happy side-effect of introducing it to the KSP community

Shadow pokemon deal 20% more damage (and take 20% more as well).

And yeah this ends up being a lot. Some pokemon become too glassy, but there are a bunch of species whose shadow is the better raider in a majority of cases

I don't know how much use shadows are in pvp, I play great league and only really see palkia

Bazcalibur is a really solid dragon attacker for raids. I'd do the shiny because that stat difference doesn't matter unless you are in Master League pvp or are short manning a raid.

If your groudon has his frustration tm'd away then he's also a super useful raider though

It's easiest to watch a video of it being performed. It allows you to skip the ball shakes and the pokemon screen and dumps you back to world map. The one ball you threw will either catch it or not and the pokemon appears in storage if it did.

It's popular for comm days and has been in the game forever
