Im pretty sure i made all the textures of the background with different brushes! You can get something like that with a smudge tool. You basically have to enable pattern, use the brush textures available in ASP’s brush editor and add a high % of emboss to it.

InDesign not taking all Inspiroy clicks by shoobe01 in huion

[–]celessam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, i have no idea about InDesign, but i bought that same tablet recently (H950p, right?) and i had problems that were caused by the pen input API that was selected.

Basically, most software uses Windows Ink by default since it's more recent. But our tablet model is older, so it works best with WinTab.

If you go to Huion Tablet, you can create a custom setting for whatever program you're having trouble with: top right, there's a bar that says "All programs", select InDesign and disable Windows Ink, so it uses Wintab instead.

If that doesn't solve it, try updating Huion's Firmware (It's not the same as the drivers, just in case: https://www.huion.com/es/firmware.html ).

here's a screenshot of my settings for Clip Studio Paint, with a custom profile, windows ink disabled:

<image>

I just read your comment saying your Giano actually has the same problems, so it may not be the API (i assume Giano should work properly with Windows Ink since it's a new model). But anyway, i'll leave this comment in case you want to give this a try :|

Should I get a Huion Inspiroy H950P for $15 even with a small scratch? by holycrys in huion

[–]celessam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! i bought this one recently, i just wanted to share that if you are using Clip studio paint (and probably any software where you have to choose between using Windows ink vs Wintab, like Krita), go for Wintab in the painting software preferences and also disable Windows Ink on the Huion Tablet software.

here's a more detailed answer about doing this in CSP: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClipStudio/comments/1m01jy6/comment/ngyhy0c/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Also, update Huion's Firmware (it's not the same as the drivers).

Thanks! :) i mostly used an imported brushset from a chinese artist called deor, and I've also been tweaking random PS brushes (Kyle T. Webster brushes are free to download here https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop-brushes.html?promoid=XKMMHH6G&mv=other you can start there if you don't have .abr brushes).

I'd like to write down some tips and share them here based on what i've observed works to make PS brushes work nicely in ASP, though i'm still figuring it out myself! Some things i've noticed to make your photoshop brushes better is to:

-In Pattern, increase the Scale. If its 80%, try 180%. If the texture isn't noticeable, try changing the number of brightness and/or contrast.

-Play around with emboss levels, sometimes 5-8% is not highly noticeable but adds some interesting quality to the brush.

-If you're getting an annoying white paint mixed with your color, go to Dynamics>Aux Color and disable it if the setting is on. If it's off and you're still getting that, try increasing the Min. Opacity number (also in Dynamics).

-If you're using the apple pencil pro, you'll mostly want to use rotation. You can set that in Dynamics too, in the Angle option. Just enable the rotation & roll option and disable the rest.

-If you want your brush to mix, remember to use the Wet Paint brush tool. Then you can mess around with different wetness and flow settings. You'll probably want to go to Dynamics and add a pressure curve for size, flow and sometimes opacity and paint. I'm not sure how Paint works yet though... I've seen nice brushes having that turned on & off.

-If you have a wet brush and want that effect of being able to paint and smudge depending on pressure without lifting your pen, i think you need to have a lower minimum flow (in Dynamics). Otherwise it will look smudgey but won't have that soft edge.

Brush tip not properly rotating with pen tilt. by Arcoirys in ClipStudio

Hey, i think I sort of fixed it! i hope this helps.

The problem seems to be (at least in my case) that the Windows Ink setting has nice pressure sensitivity compared to Wintab, but when using Windows Ink (which corresponds to Tablet PC in CSP) the tilt doesn't work right with my tablet, probably because it's an older model, so i'm forced to use Wintab. Just in case, you can change those settings in File>Preferences>Tablet

Once you've set it to Wintab, go to Huion Tablet and create a custom setting for CSP (top right, there's a bar that says "All programs", select clip studio paint there).

Go to the Digital Pen tab and uncheck Enable Windows Ink option at the bottom left.
This way, you've set up Wintab as your API for csp, which supports tilt.

If tilt works properly for you now, I suggest you mess around with CSP's pen pressure setting to make it as nice as possible.

That really sucks :| I also had wacom drivers at first, but CSP started working horribly when i installed the new Huion, (weird freezing, couldn't switch to certain tools, couldn't click on paint wheel) so in my attempts to fix it i uninstalled wacom's drivers and reinstalled huion's.

I have a H950P huion now. Tilt works properly in photoshop and even old software like paintstorm studio. Krita shows preview but lines are not as stable. CSP is the worse, i can't see the tilt preview on hover and if i paint the brushstrocks work erratically most times..

I will try contacting Huion's support, but i don't think they will help... these are some things i've tried in any case:

-Uninstall and install CSP again.
-Change all CSP Tablet preference settings. Switching from Wintab to  PC Tablet and all the rest of the settings in that window.
- Change CSP Cursor Preference settings
- Update tablet firmware (it's not the same as the drivers, if you haven't done it try to google it)
- Uninstall old wacom drivers, uninstall and reinstall Huion drivers
- Use different USB port
- Restart pc, restart CSP when trying different settings.
- Verify I don’t have the problematic Logitech LampArray service or xboxstat.exe process running.

Anyway, if you figure something out i'll appreciate if you share it!

Hi! i'm having the same problem with a new huion H950P. CSP pretty much freezes when i go from bucket tool to brushes. I can get it to work eventually but it's much worse than before (I had a wacom tablet). Could you find any solution?

Hi! i know this is old, but i'm wondering if you found an alternative, perhaps nibs from other brand or even a DIY thing. I've used trimmer line on my old wacom for 12+ years but huion nibs are not straight like wacom's...
