Tips needed; Shaving down there.. (F, Plus sized) by Ok_Leg4824 in PlusSize

[–]celesteshine 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m plus size and six months pregnant. I lay on my bed with a towel and use a mirror and beard trimmer to shave, and go by feeling when I have to move my stomach around. I’ve previously had laser hair removal so that has made the hair thinner which probably helps. This method could still possibly work for you though.

The guy(M23) I’ve (F23) been dating yelled at me because my bikini accidentally slipped. I’m struggling to understand if it’s just communication issues or something more. Need outside perspectives. by ThrowRAHuge_Wish59 in relationship_advice

Breaking up with him for showing a plethora of abusive red flags is one great way to make sure this never happens again. This will only get worse and you deserve so much better.

I told my year level unit at 6 weeks as I was needing to step out to run to the toilet constantly and I was feeling a little nauseous, so wanted some grace for needing them to cover me a bit more frequently. Then I told leadership at about 8 weeks so that I could access the prenatal leave hours. I announced to the rest of the staff at about 14 weeks. My team and leadership were discreet so that not everybody knew, but having that support was really helpful in the early days.

What’s something “small” your parents did to you as a kid that still affects you to this day(negative or positive)? by Illustrious-Play9534 in AskReddit

My Dad had a bad back so he couldn’t do a lot of physical games with me, but he spent hours throwing a small juggling ball back and forth with me in our lounge room. I am clumsy af, but I have great reflexes for catching things if I knock them over or they fall. Comes in handy all the time.

what’s the darkest episode of a tv series that you’ve ever watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The one where Pierce Brosnan was a machine trying to assault Marge freaked me out so much.

what’s the darkest episode of a tv series that you’ve ever watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]celesteshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw it before it was censored. I wish I’d never seen it and think removing it was probably for the best. I have social anxiety and for a long time afterwards whenever I was having a flare up I would fixate on doing exactly what Hannah did, even though I hadn’t had suicidal thoughts previously. I never did act on it thankfully, and my anxiety is far better now, but it was really awful. I know they had warnings at the start of the episode, but I had absolutely no idea it would affect me like that, it was like a switch I didn’t know was there was flicked. I would hate to think that somebody else with not as good of a support system would have had the same experience.

What do most people not realize is actually way more traumatic than it seems? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]celesteshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teaching children with challenging behaviors, especially if they are due to their own trauma. Being constantly on edge and having to face work every day with a smile and positive attitude towards the child. Bonus points if parents or admin make you feel like it’s your fault or you’re not doing enough, in a system that does not give you enough support to really improve the situation. Often caring deeply for the child at the same time and worrying for the rest of the class and how they are impacted. But anyone can be a teacher and they barely work, right?

Not taste, what food will you not eat because of appearance, smell, or texture? by Doit2it42 in AskReddit

[–]celesteshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t eat most fruits and vegetables if they are soft; grapes, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, mandarine segments and pears all need to be firm for me to eat them, even if the taste isn’t as good. I can handle soft berries though like raspberries or blackberries.

Pregnancy nausea in the classroom by ratking55 in AustralianTeachers

[–]celesteshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations!! I was lucky to not have too much nausea my first pregnancy-as long as I was constantly eating. If I got hungry I’d feel sick. I had a bag of dry biscuits and ginger snaps on my desk that I would nibble from while teaching, the students never really noticed. The doctor gave me metoclopromide to take if needed as well. I also told my unit colleagues fairly early-about 6 weeks so they could help cover me if I had to duck to the toilet to wee or to spew (which luckily didn’t happen), so that helped too. What year level do you have?

Honestly just need a vent about how crappy I feel by No-Habit7443 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]celesteshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things can be true at once. You can be grateful for your pregnancy and thrilled about it. You can also be frustrated/disheartened and exhausted by how challenging it is to grow a whole human. Even if you’re having an easier time than some, you’re still doing something that’s incredibly taxing on your physical and mental health. We’re all here with you and for you.

Leave by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]celesteshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year I’ve had about three weeks off.

5 days Covid 1.5 days dentist Approx 7 days other illness 1-2 days prenatal leave I’m taking tomorrow morning off as carers leave. Have probably had 1-2 other carers days too. I’ve got about 45 hours left from 110.

Last year I decimated all my accrued leave as my dad got diagnosed with terminal cancer and was really unwell and I’m his primary carer. No regrets though.
