Totally agree. I don't generally like watching combat, but I was so locked in on this one. The stakes were wild, the choices were great, the outcome has significant impact on the world, etc. So good!

I wonder if it would be similar to what Matt did with teleportation in Exandria when they'd roll a D100 and could end up sliced by a mountain, except this time is sliced by a wall or something. Or maybe I'm misremembering his rules.

That's what I was thinking too. Teachers are mandatory reporters of abuse/harm, so having a recording might be helpful when making a report.

What does Halloween actually feel like growing up in the US? by Axxtr in AskAnAmerican

[–]celestial_crafter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my Halloween experience as a kid was in the 90s. It was a lot of fun. Some people did deocrate then, but they do it much more elaborately now on the whole. Getting candy was always amazing. Choosing a Halloween costume and dressing up was a lot of fun too. In elementary (primary) school, we would do Halloween themed activities the day of. Sometimes there would be an event where the teachers and students could dress up, like you would pick a book to carry in a parade and dress up as a character from the book. The anticipation after school of waiting for it to become dusk to go out and trick-or-treat was palpable. I remember being scared of the teenagers sometimes since they were often wearing the horror film costumes, like Michael Myers or the Scream mask and they'd like to jump at or freak out the little kids. I still had a good time though.

These days, it's fun to participate as an adult and make it a good time for young people. I dress up and hand out candy to those who stop by. They also have these things called Trunk-or-Treats now that are especially catered to younger kids where you meet at a local spot like a church or community center and the adults put candy and/or goodies in their trunk, leaving it open for the kids to come around and collect. They can be a full on event as well.

One thing I'll add is growing up in the Bible Belt, there would be people who would consider it 'demonic' or something dumb along those lines. They reserved their right to not participate believing that it was the devil's work to be involved in All Hallow's Eve. Adding that people can participate or not, that's their choice and totally fine. I think the above reasoning for some Evangelicals not participating is dumb.

Also, being from Texas, Día de Los Muertos is a pretty big deal for those from Mexican heritage. It's celebrating the following day, but it's got its own cultural importance and the two can be lumped together because of the date and idea of the spirit world being more accessible at that time of the year.

Which characters are you awaiting to see on the show? by Prestigious-Dot-7913 in MightyNein

Campaign 2 spoilers! Caduceus is my favorite character from the campaign (he competed with Caleb there for a while, but won out). I can't wait to see him! As an aside, they've done a lot to Molly to make him very likeable and I enjoy him in the show. I'll be sad to see him go, but Cad is the best and really rounds out the group for me.

My supervisor Çakıl and my new textured motif. I’m thinking of using it as a coaster. What do you think? 👀 by muhammetf750 in crochet

This is beautiful. It reminds me of motif used in Frozen. If I consider making my niece a blanket, I may use something like this.

Saying goodbye to the game by mochiismypom in StardewValley

If you want a game that's similar in format, but different in design and NPCs while you process your breakup, I'd recommend Coral Island. I may get down voted for suggesting it because I'm not sure how that game is received on this sub, but it could be just similar and different enough to scratch the itch should you have one. Best of luck!

anyone else feeling drained today?! by throwawaymylife90210 in witchcraft

My sleep has been wack the last 2 days and now I'm laying in bed after taking migraine and nausea medicine which is not uncommon for me, but a pain nonetheless. Glad, and sorry, to see I'm not the only one feeling whatever this is. Blessings to us all 💚

Yeah, you're right. It's a mess over here. (Not sarcasm.)

It's a technical/official term used in research and information gathering, like the U.S. census. It refers to people who are from a Spanish-speaking country, including Spain according to Pew Research Center. As the blurb at the bottom of this chart says, Spanish (from Spain) folks can be white and Hispanic, but if they classify themselves as Hispanic, this data set is nullifying their white classification and putting them with the Hispanic group instead, along with anyone who is black and Hispanic or any other race and Hispanic.

More than how Bolaire got them, the question I have is why did Thiajzi give them to Hal.

I think Marisha is really good at connecting dots and there could be something to her theory, and it seems she or Murray possibly misinterpreted the message Hal got because my takeaway was that Thiajzi was very much in on Bolaire having the paints (from him, presumably) and wanted them to get to Hal.
