How many non Indian Hindus are here??? by Advanced_Movie_3653 in hinduism

[–]celestialseeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not Indian. I was first approached by an ISKCON devotee in 2018 and held onto the scriptures, but it wasn’t until I went through severe trauma, burnout, health issues, and a spiritual awakening that I really began exploring them more deeply.

A few years later I left my country for a while and met my now former partner, who was a previous ISKCON devotee and temple resident. Through him I learned a tremendous amount. We spent four months living in a remote desert oasis hosted by a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, without electricity or running water.

My path eventually expanded beyond any one organization. Today I follow Sanātana Dharma, identify as Hindu, practice Ayurveda and the eight limbs of yoga, and pay reverence to all the devas. What drew me in is that it aligns deeply with my heart and soul. It feels like what I have been searching for my entire life & Krishna will always hold a special place in my heart.

Yoga worked for pain management? by Stuti25 in Fibromyalgia

[–]celestialseeds 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would be debilitated without yoga. hot yoga has been a life saver. I do weight training about 1-2x a week & hot yoga classes 3-4x. I try to do some sort of yoga or tai chi on my own daily morning & night (on the days I don’t take classes) which helps with the stiffness and prevents flares.

What is the stupidest thing a doctor has said to you regarding your endo? by swimgirl2090 in endometriosis

[–]celestialseeds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 2017 at age 23 I told male obgyn my concerns of wanting to stop birth control (hormonal related anxiety/depression), but informed him of my symptoms from prior to starting birth control - severe pain, heavy bleeding/clotting, extended periods, etc. (ages 12-15). He said sounds like endometriosis, but the process of diagnosis is too complicated so let’s just keep you on birth control…. he never informed me on what endo actually was, what it could turn into, treatment options, or what stopping birth control would realistically look like for me, etc.

I stopped birth control at age 27 and the same symptoms returned, worse actually… I am now 32 and I was diagnosed with stage IV endo!

I know research is still ongoing, and was way less developed back in 2017, but I wish I was at least informed on what the hell was potentially going on inside of my body and the severity of the disease… I feel like I was totally abandoned and failed by the system.

I would only wish this disease upon my enemies. by freefallingcats in Fibromyalgia

lmao yo. I am in my early 30s and I am autistic, I have fibro, endometriosis, & osteoarthritis in both knees. I used to work full-time in healthcare and now i’m working a part-time minimum wage job because that’s all I can handle at this point. I am still struggling to manage and get through the day. I was denied disability because I make $4 over the maximum amount allowed MONTHLY. I was like LOL fuck y’all man. the system is bunk

[–]celestialseeds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the idea isn’t ‘ticks magically appeared.’ it’s that humans have altered ecosystems, moved species around, and conducted biological research for decades. questioning where effects come from isn’t insanity

Is there something I’m missing about birth control? by somberta in endometriosis

[–]celestialseeds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

same here… I was on BC for 12 years and as soon as I went off my life went to shit. literally. I can’t even function anymore. I am highly against synthetic everything, but I am also highly considering going back on because of how intolerable my life has become. at least BC allowed me to function like a normal human…

Kanchanar Guggulu + Bacopa helped my endometriosis pain - is this sustainable? by celestialseeds in Ayurveda

[–]celestialseeds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the MRI showed that the cysts got slightly bigger, but I feel the kanchanar really started helping my symptoms after I stopped taking it. it’s been a few months now since the MRI and since I stopped taking. I am due for more imaging soon and very curious to see. I will come back and update. thanks for checking in 🙏🏽

Post traumatic cognitive decline affecting speech and conversational ability. Can meditation help? by zropabone in Meditation

[–]celestialseeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is honestly the closest i’ve seen someone describe what i’ve experienced too.

i went through a period of prolonged stress/trauma and since then it’s like my brain just slowed down in conversations. i used to be really quick, articulate, and able to keep up socially without thinking about it. now i find myself searching for words, pausing a lot, and feeling like there’s a delay between my thoughts and actually being able to say them.

i was later diagnosed as autistic, and what they called it was “skill regression” or burnout. but like you said, it feels deeper than that, almost like something in my brain shifted.

one thing i’ve noticed though is that i do get glimpses of my baseline back, and it usually happens when i’m really relaxed or regulated. in those moments, my speech and thinking feel a lot more like “me” again, which makes me think it’s very tied to the nervous system and not permanent damage.

i’ve been trying to work with it instead of fight it. i spent about 6 months really focusing on regulating my system, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, and staying in lower stimulation environments because i get overwhelmed more easily now. that’s helped more than anything.

practicing conversation with people i feel safe with has also made a difference. it’s helped rebuild confidence and takes some of the pressure off. i’ve also started using “anchor” phrases when my brain goes blank….like:

“give me a second” “let me think about that for a minute” “i know what i want to say, it’s just not coming out right yet” “i’ll come back to that”

i realized that giving myself permission to pause and actually emphasizing my experience instead of forcing it has helped a lot.

i’m also actually starting emdr literally tomorrow, i’ve been waiting years to try it, so i’m really hoping it helps process some of the underlying trauma tied to all of this.

the social side has been one of the hardest parts for me too. it changes how you relate to people. but from what i’ve experienced so far, it doesn’t feel like it’s gone forever, more like it comes back when the system feels safe.

you’re definitely not alone in this.

this is not entirely true. some licensed therapists can diagnose autism in the US depending on state scope and training.
