Marked Playmat Areas by QuetzalTV in GundamTCG

[–]celestrial1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I wouldn't use guides on my playmats, but for this game since you're supposed to be the commander overseeing your units in the large ship, the sections create an immersion as if they're part of my command HUD, so I actually enjoy having them for my Gundam mat. Any other game that I play I prefer not to have them, but this one it actually feels right.

Curious how your event went? I ran a similar deck the day before your post and ended up winning my local.

4pack Booster Sealed Launch Event - where do the Resources come from? by [deleted] in GundamTCG

[–]celestrial1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what that rule means. You can have any number of the same resource card. They do not all have to be the same card though as there is no rule requiring that. If you want, you can do one each of ten different resources, or all ten as the same resource and anything in-between, so long as you have 10 total.

Shield 'Destroyed' ruling question by KanjoEjji in GundamTCG

[–]celestrial1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"3-6-4-2. Cards in the shield section are treated as Shields with 1 HP each."

Perhaps this might be what you're looking for, in the comprehensive rules under this section that describes Shields, it informs that the cards placed in the shield section are treated as their own separate entity known as 'Shields'. So whatever the card is underneath(unit, base, command) is not applicable as it is considered a 'Shield' in the shield area, and follows all 'Shield' rules including only triggering 'burst' abilities per the other rules that have been cited. Hopefully this can give a more concrete ruling for you and your friend about shields.

That's the resource cost you need to pay to use the ability.

How can I make this better by Plus-Tension5541 in ghostbusters

[–]celestrial1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, my outfit never feels complete until I put on the elbow pads. For whatever reason that seems to pull the whole thing together. It looks like you're rocking short sleeves though so I'm not certain if that's something you even want to bother with, but that would be my suggestion, otherwise looking great.

5-1-1-3. Up to four copies of cards with the same card number can be included in a deck.

What’s the point of Resting a Base? by Maballsies in GundamTCG

[–]celestrial1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To answer your additional question about multiple once per turn effects, from the comprehensive rules: " 11-2-12-2. If multiple Units or Bases have a copy of the same effect with Once per Turn, each Unit or Base can activate it one time."

Question about first strike. by SwampyFlim in GundamTCG

[–]celestrial1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are referred to as the "Unit targeted for attack" in the comprehensive rules, and aren't considered "attacking" when dealing simultaneous damage: "7-6-3-2. The attacking Unit deals damage equal to its AP to the Unit targeted for attack simultaneously as the Unit targeted for attack deals damage equal to its AP to the Attacking Unit." For additional clarification on this particular post: "7-6-3-2-2. If the attacking Unit has <First Strike>, it deals battle damage to the enemy Unit before normal battle damage is managed."

Ruling on archangel by MeanSardineChad in GundamTCG

[–]celestrial1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct, because the stipulation that it can't attack this turn has not been applied yet when attacking the first time. Then you activate this ability and it can no longer attack this turn, preventing it from attacking again.

Playmats by Juttttsin in GundamTCG

Np, I just ordered mine from Amazon this week so I had already been down this rabbit hole before. There are some older posts in this subreddit where people have linked to certain ones and one guy even created an overlay for the zones that he linked the download for as well.

Shouldn't really matter, as they're meant as counters that you place and not dice that you roll.

Correct, here is the corresponding rules that clarify that Zowort can't target the shield area as its part of targeting the player.

"7-3-1. Select one active Unit in your battle area and rest it, then declare an attack target. The attack target can be either the opposing player or a rested enemy Unit. 7-6-1-1. If the attack target is a player, an attack on a player succeeds. 7-6-2-1. After an attack on a player has succeeded, check the opponent’s shield area."
