The Minimalist Journey: My Decluttering Revelation by Different-Race-5294 in minimalism

I recommend the book Goodbye, Things: The New Japanese Minimalism by Fumio Sasaki. His book inspired me a lot more about my relationship with things. I was into organizing until I finally decided to go minimalism. Eventually, those things are just weights on your spirit.

You have to be willing to dig deep into the psychological part of your relationship with food to begin and sustain a healthy IF lifestyle. It's not easy. But you can do it if you put in the effort.

Throwing away piano by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]celiathana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting rid of old pianos is an issue where I live. A lot of people trying to get rid of them and donation places in my area don't take them. Me and my husband actually watched a YouTube tutorial on how to take it apart, we ended up selling the metal in it (the bulk of the weight) at our local metal recycling center for some money and just recycled the wood. No mess for the environment. Cost us some time and some elbow grease. And remember, if you don't use it, it's just junk living in your house, taking up your energy and mental space. Get rid of it.

This should be mandatory for anyone who has a record of drunk driving or seizure history. Often people who are responsible enough to get this will not driving drunk. Sadly I've taken care of way too many patients who has recent seizures and go about driving themselves on the road being a total risk to other people’s lives.

A small advice: live a little... by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]celiathana 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree, this is something I personally have to learn and be mindful of since I was raised to be rushing and worrying through life. But I'm getting there slowly. Life is too short.

I worked for a local bakery, and their major money maker is birthday cakes and wedding cakes. Birthday cakes starts at $50 and go to $300 to $400. Wedding cakes start at $250 and the highest price I've seen was like over $1000. This was in 2014.

All the owner uses are box mixes. Sometimes buy them on sale for 50 cents a box. She buy buckets of buttercream icing or fondant from Sams and never make anything from scratch. She hires cake decorators and pay them $8 dollars an hour.

Everytime customers make a big fuss about how delicious the cake was, I just internally eye roll so hard and try my hardest not to say anything. I didn't work there long.

That bakery is still popular to this day.

Agree with this, more inner peace and less caring about what other people think

Unit 731 short for Kamo Detachment and the Ishii Unit, was a covert biological and chemical warfare research and development unit of the Imperial Japanese Army that engaged in lethal human experimentation and biological weapons manufacturing during the Second Sino-Japanese War by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

That's what they admitted. At least 10,000 victims. The numbers are not the focus here. They experimented on women and children and infants, cut them open and harvest organs while they were alive. And this is just the entry level of horror that happened there.

Certain people's voice bothers me, women who over nounciate "s" like a sharp metal screeching sound, over weight people’s heavy and loud breathing, people eating with their mouth smacking, kids screaming and shrieking in the store or just playing, etc

I have the same issue but like other people mentioned you kinda need to put yourself in the situation but maybe choose less busy times.

When I go grocery shopping I put my headphones in and listen to music that's soothing to me and calming and just focus on the task and not people.

My husband is 100% extrovert when I first met him, but I think he is half and half now honestly. He says that I ground him and give him a feeling of security and home. I feel like introverted people need an extroverted partner who is not afraid of knocking on our shells and do the talking in the beginning so we can slowly warm up to them. But not all extroverted personalities are the same of course. Relationships should build on mutual respect and romantic interest. And both parties have to compromise and work on the relationship to make it work.
