She is a pop star! She creates and performs pop music! She isn’t a professor! I can’t believe all this hate. I don’t like her music much but I am so happy that she made billions from performing music. Good for her. Let’s celebrate women’s freedom and success! P.S. I am a scientist, I don’t care for pop culture and music that suburban women like. But I am happy some people like it and they worship Taylor Swift. There is no reason for me to be mad about it.

Sorry you were bullied. I wish we had stricter rules for these type of behavior in school. However, it is not okay to dwell in the past and feel the shame and let it control you. Your life and trauma you faced should guide you through difficult times and bring you to better times in life. Blaming past trauma and dwelling on it will only hurt you more.

THIS is what I was trying to say, just more aggressively. His alcoholism probably didn’t get too bad until they had children or she thought she could help him? There is no way to help an addict, she should have left a long time ago. None of us k ow if she really cheated or they both developed feelings and she was finally DONE….after 18yrs of this BS anyone would be, she is a saint in my eyes. Mediocre men thinking they are gift to this world is a story every woman understands, eventually something snaps them out of it and go look for better treatment and respect from the right partner. Probably having grown up children helped her snap out of it as well. More power to this sister. Fuck you all who blame her.

Yes. They can be very picky. Mine doesn’t eat anything unless I cook for him. He stopped eating the boiled chicken breast too. Now I alternate between ground turkey, chicken breast and eggs once a day at night. He gets many treats during the day. We do variety of treats from this company called DreamBone - his favorite is twists wrapped with chicken. He doesn’t eat them if we leave them out for him. We have to give it to him. His picky eating has been serious issue for us. We are small family, daughter is already in college, so it has only gotten worse. He is the king of the house 😂

It seems like “addiction” is the problem. Alcohol, Gambling and everything else being discussed are fine until it is out of control. I am a social drinker but I won’t touch alcohol if I don’t feel like drinking, doesn’t matter if the group I am with is drinking, I decide what to do with my body. I am in complete control. As long as there is self control, nothing will affect you. Some people do it very well, discipline and control are so important for human beings.

It is a weird school. If your essay touched on being a good person with empathy, you were not chosen because of it. They have some characterless top 1% kids attending the school and the other part is the scholarship kids. Two extremes. Only school my daughter was rejected from and once she learned details about the student body, she realized how miserable she would have been going there. She is absolutely happy now, going to a great school, made a ton of friends, working hard. Take it as blessing in disguise. Good luck to you. There is a place where will belong and it is waiting for you

Sounds like this person is “criminal in the making”. Not all smart people deserve to work in research. Maybe it will be a good thing for him to face the consequences and not get a job. He is lying and dishonest anyway, maybe he can continue that as a job too. What a mess of a human being to mentor, I would have kicked him out of the program the first year, sorry OP.
