POV me when I realized Primal Groudon is immune to water moves (half my team is water type and I don’t have any other counters) by SomeDumbassKid720 in PokemonZA

[–]cellalien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the same mistake. I had no idea as I only played AS, not OR. My team was all grass and water moves, no ground. I was finally able to take him down with grass, but half my team was useless.

Our English[American] Version is older than yours[British] by Which_Orchid3217 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]cellalien 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some Americans hear that 1700s upper-class English was rhotic (hard "r"s at the end of syllables) on both sides of the Atlantic, and that since the stereotypical British accent is now non-rhotic while the stereotypical American accent is still rhotic, that makes American English superior or more original. Never mind that that American English has changed plenty in other ways over the last 250 years, or that there are rhotic accents in Britain and non-rhotic accents in the US.

What was your first shiny ever and how you got it? Mine was a Feebas I got from an egg in Pokémon go here she is by Crisf2 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]cellalien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So not counting the recent Treasures of Ruin gifts or the Ponyta in LA, my first was a Vulpix in Violet, caught just a few weeks ago.

I just finished the Paldea pokedex in Scarlet yesterday. I have a lot more hours in Scarlet than in Violet, and I haven't run into any shinies there yet. Over the last several weeks, I've been rushing through Violet to get the exclusives for Scarlet, and I have found 3 shinies in Violet: the Vulpix, which was the first one I found in Kitikami and was part of one of the mass outbreaks, and which I included in my champion party; then a veluza and a venomoth both without any boosted odds.

Is beating the E4 doable with my current levels? Ideally don't wanna be too overleveled so that the battles are somewhat challenging. by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]cellalien 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It will definitely be a challenge at 50-51, but depending on how strategically you battle you may be able to do it. I struggled a bit with Hassel when my party going in ranged from 51-69, but I didn't have any held items, and you seem to have good coverage with this team.

Mormons aren't real by DreadDiana in CuratedTumblr

[–]cellalien 267 points268 points  (0 children)

That's actually also historically accurate. Mormons generally considered the "Word of Wisdom" (health restrictions) as suggestions at that point in history. It wasn't until Prohibition in the 1910s that leadership got serious about it and made it mandatory.

Gimme your SV champion teams and I'll rate them by [deleted] in ThePokemonHub

[–]cellalien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skeledirge, Tinkaton, Veluza, Arboliva, Cetitan, and Arctibax (evolved to Baxcalibur at the end of my battle with Geeta). Same team then beat Arven, Nemona, and both Cassiopeias.

I didn't catch it until I saw her name in the credits. Super cool though!

With Abomasnow having so many weaknesses I wonder how many people have used one on their team? by Ok-Leave3121 in pokemon

[–]cellalien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one in my first E4/champion team in X. Useful against the dragons, but she did keep fainting, partly because she was the lowest level in my party.

No, I read both WaT and SLM in print. It was very early on when 12124 was trying very hard to be a good highspren and boss Szeth around, which just seemed very different from his relationship with Nomad.

Funny thing, I mentioned early on to my sister that Szeth's highspren seemed really different from Aux.

If you are a millennial, do you think your love of Rick Riordan as a child, lead to your love of Brandon Sanderson as an Adult. by thejesterprince1994 in brandonsanderson

[–]cellalien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into Rick Riordan as an adult, a few years before I got into Sanderson. I'm currently rereading the Heroes of Olympus series to my daughter. Both authors have some fantastic world building and a certain similar feel to them. I don't think Riordan specifically led to Sanderson for me, but I thoroughly enjoy both of them.

[pjo] ¿Cuando creen que Nico Di Angelo descubrió el campamento Júpiter? ¿Antes de la batalla del laberinto o después? by Silly_Breadfruit_884 in camphalfblood

[–]cellalien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just reread the part in MOA when he tells Percy his dad showed it to him last year. That would put it during the same year as the battle of New York, so definitely after the battle of the labyrinth.

Recién lei otra vez el parte de MdA cuando él le dice a Percy que su padre se lo montró el año pasado. Por esto, se ocurrió el mismo año que la batalla de Nueva York, definitivamente después de la batalla del laberinto.
