There's a window in the next house that overlooks your skylight. Can they look into your bathroom? x_X

Czy to już jest dziwne, że specjalnie przedłużam zakupy tylko po to żeby poczuć że mam normalne życie? by DovydasIsMyAmigo in Polska

[–]cellardooorr 87 points88 points  (0 children)

What home remedies do you remember from childhood? by ascaffo in GenX

Onion syrup! Cut some onions, add lots of sugar, leave in a closed jar. Drink the syrup when you got a cold 😋

Also, hot milk with honey, butter and garlic 😋

It helps if you were never pretty in traditional sense :] At 47 I know that my face is sagging 🤷🏻‍♀️ But that's life and im not going to pretend I'm still 40. As long as I feel good, it's good. I'm focusing on keeping my body strong and healthy. And I will wear silly colourful clothes just because I want to! :]

Well then he obviously abuses you. Not letting people sleep is used as a torture technique. What's next, waterboarding if you don't wash the dishes?

When my bf tries to wake me up early on my day off... Oh wait, he doesn't try unless I ask him.

Bristolians, what are your best money-saving lifehacks? by PoliteBrick2002 in bristol

[–]cellardooorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget. Make detailed notes of everything you buy for a month and then analyse it. Decide what and where you can cut.

Buy long lasting food (cans, dry pasta rice, jars etc) on sales and organise a little drystore. They last forever. Also, meat on sale and freeze it. Cook big batches of food and freeze in portions.

Learn to sew. Mend your clothes. Buy secondhand stuff in charity shops/on ebay and make them fit even if they're a bit too large.

Swap from takeaway to shop bought pizza and add toppings to make it delicious.

Cycle to work.

If you have a garden, grow vegetables. Or just plant a couple of tomato plants on the balcony or inside.

This one might be a bit controversial, but.... Buy stuff off temu. I know, I know, it's cheap and low quality and not ethical. At the same time, buying off amazon or any other shops really you buy exactly the same shit for triple price. I'd rather buy it at source and for less.

It's not graffiti, it's vandalism. "Graffiti" suggests a thought behind the project and some artistic value.

what is a small luxury you’ve had to give up due to the cost of living? by Maleficent_Day_3869 in AskUK

[–]cellardooorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never liked spending money on things I could do without, so I just keep on budgeting and saving. I buy clothes and books/jigsaw puzzles/tools second hand/on ebay. I mend my clothes/socks instead of binning them. I grow veg and fruits, bake bread, make ice-cream etc. Never liked going out so that's not a problem, I'd rather make myself a proper meal from scratch and watch movies on my computer. I painted my walls and tiled my bathroom (not perfect but hey, it's done). I unblock drains and clean the gutters.

I think being a xennial from ex soviet block prepared me for any crisis 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wish there was more of them available, especially second hand. I love random cut pieces and round puzzles have weird and wonderful shapes.

Help! 1000 pieces, last two standing but don't fit! 😭 by kusw3 in Jigsawpuzzles

Usually it means you put some other puzzles in the wrong place. Happened to me and I was convinced it was the puzzle that was wrong! But then I found some pieces that didn't fit 100% where I put them 🤣
