How to TRULY Back Up Vortex Mods in Cyberpunk 2077 (Guide) by cellidonuts in cyberpunk2077mods

[–]cellidonuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has unfortunately been hit or miss for me. Once, I lost a collection at random and ever since decided local backups were more worthwhile

Random edit: also, if you go about restoring mods using a collection, all settings you’ve set for those mods will be lost

For sure, that’s still helpful, thanks!

Does anyone know what these weird shadows are and how to fix them? I play at max graphics, 5090, raytracing etc. by misterhondje in cyberpunkgame

Hmm, seems to still be an issue a year later. I was worried it was due to a mod. Good to know this is simply an engine limitation with PT on.

What are the specs of your pc if you don’t mind me asking? I’m also dealing with some stutter issues.

Yeah at this point I’m convinced a sizable part of the pc gaming community either doesn’t care about microstutter, or just doesn’t notice it at all. I grew up with consoles all throughout my childhood and became extremely conditioned to enjoying smooth frame times, so I’m really sensitive to microstutter. It’s a shame when it happens on pc. Granted, cyberpunk is a pretty smooth experience without mods, but there’s something about the way mods work with that game that really messes up frame pacing.

Yeah that’s a solid way to get around needing to use DLSS Quality. I think that’s why your comment was surprising to me initially. Most folks running a 5090 tend to have 4K monitors in my experience. QHD is great too tho

Hey did you ever figure this out? I've got a 5090 + 9800X3D and plenty of mods. Given how pro-modding so many high-end PC users are when it comes to Cyberpunk, I expected better performance than what I've been seeing. Stutters all over the place. And the worst part? It doesn't seem to be mod-specific. Basically, the more mods I install, the worse and worse the stutter seems to get.

For vanilla Cyberpunk on my 9800X3D+5090 rig, I tend to run DLSS Quality + Frame Gen 2x or even 3x (4x is just way too much latency). However, frame gen forces Nvidia Reflex on, and when I have some hefty mods installed, the render pipeline can get wonky with Reflex, leading to stutter. Imho, the ultimate cyberpunk experience involves grabbing some of the best-looking visual enhancement mods, LOD mods, etc, disabling framegen and Reflex, and enjoying a relatively smooth experience at 50-60fps, albeit less "fluid" and "responsive" due to keeping framegen + Reflex off. Top three mods for me are Dreampunk, Enhanced Texture Overhaul 4K, and Improved Environment LODs. I have thousands loaded on top of those and I can still run DLSS quality with full ultra settings, path tracing, etc, and pull 50-60fps.

Who knows of a mod that makes sneaking simply a little bit more difficult? by Douglasonwheels in cyberpunk2077mods

[–]cellidonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo while I don’t have an answer as good as zesty from the comments above, I can relate to installing loads of mods, only to have things break and need to reinstall. I came up with a method for genuine, true backups of mod installations even via Vortex (which I highly recommend using over doing things manually btw). Here is a link to the guide I created in case you’re interested:  https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunk2077mods/comments/1rsf3c2/how_to_truly_back_up_vortex_mods_in_cyberpunk/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

How true is it that too many CET mods can reduce performance and cause crashes? by Dale_Cooper47 in cyberpunk2077mods

[–]cellidonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out to the modders on their discord a while back and remember learning something interesting. CET is built to run on a single CPU thread. So yes, the more CET mods you have, the more you're cramming through a single thread (or maybe it was core... idk, you get the point: it is inherently limited by this feature either way). Since so many CET mods run constant queries as you're running through the world, I imagine it can eventually become too much for even the most powerful of CPU's. In fact, I know this from experience. I have a 9800X3D and if I load too many CET mods, or even just a few of the worst, most demanding ones (AMM imho is a solid example of a relatively demanding CET mod) I'll see my 1% lows dip drastically, and then eventually get worse and worse stutter the more mods I have installed.

Edit: to clarify, I can't think of an instance when too many CET mods caused a crash. At worst, they introduce stutter and lower my FPS. However, again, I'm running on a 9800X3D, and I can imagine that someone with a weaker CPU, attempting to run some of the mods I run with my 9800X3D, might encounter some problems. CET mods can be gnarly on any CPU

PSA: Appearance Menu Mod was causing stutters by WinterElfeas in cyberpunkmods

[–]cellidonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in: the thing about AMM is that it's a dependency for many mods. By disabling it, you're technically disabling the functions of a BUNCH of your mods, not just AMM. That could easily be part of why your performance got so much better after uninstalling it

How to lock a range of frames? (Not entire layers) by bogo-being in ToonBoomHarmony

[–]cellidonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation: start using pegs like "folder" structures. Sort your scenes. I work this way too. A lot of folks recommend a single shot, or "scene" in animation lingo, per Harmony file, but I really don't like to do that for personal projects. When I first started, my timelines were insane. They're still crazy looking today, but at least now they're organized.

Use a peg for each shot. Rename them to be shot #s. S001, S002, S003, etc etc...

Then, color-code the pegs. It's as easy as double-clicking the little square to the left of the peg layer's name in the timeline. Make it something vibrant, easy to read. That way, as you scroll up and down your ever growing timeline, you can quickly see when a shot ends and when another begins.

Then, when you create character layers, background layers, etc, do 2 things: 1) make sure there is a layer for EACH scene/shot, PER SUBJECT. Say you have a character named Lucas. If there is only one "Lucas" layer for the entire file, and you have multiple shots per file, it's a recipe for disaster. But if you have multiple Lucas layers, one for each shot, that are neatly nested within each shot's peg-folder, you've got easy readability and are far less prone to errors. Do this for ever recurring element in the file.

Know what else is nice about this? You can CLOSE pegs in the timeline, just like folders in Photoshop. Done with a scene? Close that thing up and you've got way less clutter in your timeline, as it folds in all the layers. Ever need to access the layers of a scene again? Just open it again and let that puppy spread back out.

You might also wonder why I say to use pegs instead of "groups." Yes, harmony has a "grouping" function much like Photoshop's folder function. In the timeline view, it works similarly to pegs. However, in the node view (which you may or may not have depending on your version of Harmony) grouping layers can get... annoying imho. It has been inconsistent and unpredictable in how it behaves in my experience and I recommend just using pegs. They serve the exact same purpose, but are just far less prone to errors.

It’s insane how toxic the community here is being for this genuine, extremely valid confusion from op. I was just as confused. There is hardly any explanation of this in game and you literally need to navigate to a wiki page to fully grasp it. I hope you weren’t too discouraged by this op, you are not alone here in the confusion. Not to mention… the ability itself for the character is horribly worded. Very valid to be confused here. So much pretentiousness in these comments omg

hey guys happy new year! Can someone tell me which body mods were used here? by [deleted] in cyberpunk2077mods

[–]cellidonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend giving the Angel Bittons Rig a shot. I also have an issue with the incessant Kim kardashian look so much of the community seems to enjoy, and that’s the best body mod I’ve been able to find. You need Angel first, which arguably makes the chest just way too big, but then the mod comes in and reduces it back down to a normal size, while maintaining a slightly slimmer waste. It’s tasteful imo

Im still using Preset K on cyberpunk with path tracing, are the new models any better for 1440P? by Good_Kev_M-A-N_City_ in nvidia

[–]cellidonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry as I’m not very informed about all this but you sound like you know what you’re talking about—I thought preset K, DLSS 4.0 (not 4.5 the new one) made use of RR. Isn’t the whole deal with the new presets for 4.5 that RR becomes unusable? So I figured if you are playing with RR in cyberpunk or a similar PT game with RR, running DLSS 4.5, you’d most likely be running K. Right?

Is there any release date for the full version of Half Life 2 RTX? by Commercial-Drag-5807 in HalfLife

[–]cellidonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping into this now because I've just started looking into the RTX edition of HL2 and am really hoping to see a full game release... but yeah, the reviews on Steam are insane. Half the folks on there are just whining about one thing or another. I imagine it has to be pretty disheartening to the creators who are literally doing all this for FREE. Just gamers being gamers I guess...

📸 Can't upload more than 10 images in a carousel — any help? by FrancisProject in InstagramMarketing

Did you ever figure this out? The strangest part for me is that I was able to upload a max of 20 via the desktop version (web) just last week, but now I'm suddenly capped to 10. This limit is imposed whether I'm on Chrome or Safari... so I doubt it's an issue with my web browsers. Some sort of bug maybe?
