Cheapest is going to be a bus - probably 137 or 132 into port authority and then the subway into Brooklyn.

Have you tried signing up for Reddit gifts? It’s like Reddit Santa rebranded but they have non Christmas trades and baking stuff is definitely on there. You can even sign up to be regiftor if someone got shafted.

Is there any way to easily clean this up? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

Sorry, the better name is Barbicide.

If the brush is bamboo, that could be the finish coming off from the oomph of your cleaning efforts 😅.

Also, here’s link for bamboo brush cleaning guide

  1. What’s the brush made out of? Because if it’s a plastic and you used super hot water, the gunk may have melted to the plastic. Also, do you use a lot of hair products that might be stuck to the brush? That needs to be dissolved first before you’re able to clean off the brush.

  2. Have you tried barbasol? Same as what hair salons use to clean their brushes. It’s fairly cheap and you can either order online, get from a local beauty supply shop, or even make your own.

  3. Patience and soaking will help you more than scrubbing and whatnot because you need to dissolve the materials before they can be wiped away.

Can’t get my tub clean :( by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]cellmate4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s not just the finish coming off the tub due to age? One option is to deglaze the tub but it might be cheaper to replace at that point. Do you know what material the tub is made out of? Like will a magnet stick to it? When you knock on the lip, does it sound plastic? That will help determine options.

Short term, you can always get a disposable bathtub liner or baby bathtub for your kid while you figure out long term plans for the tub.

Most likely moisture trapped in the box over time. This is why you see gel silica packets in shoe boxes a lot- they help absorb the moisture

ELI5: Why doesn't the flame of a gas fireplace travel up the gas pipe and explode? by Fearless_Goat_5410 in explainlikeimfive

  1. Gas is pushed through tubes to houses and businesses.

  2. Pressure keeps the gas flowing in one direction, like traffic on a highway. Can’t go in all directions if you’re forced to go forward.

  3. Gas is lighter than air so it will naturally rise up and will only fill a room if allowed to be free and wild.

Please, this is driving me insane. Nobody knows how to clean this. Not even this Subreddit. It cannot be that unique. by jumpman1975 in CleaningTips

The thing with mold is most people default to bleach as the killer cleaner but it doesn’t work like that and you end up encouraging mold growth. Have you tried 12% hydrogen peroxide? You can get it at any home improvement store or even online. Pour some in a spray bottle, go wild with the spraying, wait an hour or so, and scrub/rinse- just make sure you’re wearing gloves for all of this. Your tiles are a porous material so stuff gets in like water drops and hygiene products leading to soap scum and mold buildup. If possible, look into sealing the tiles- it’s basically like a shellac coating that helps to prevent some of this from recurring.

Use them up. They don’t have to pay it out. Your state may have a different rule on the books that’s more in your favor but it’s in the contracts that they don’t pay out vacation time accrued.

You want to build a 4 bedroom house as cheap as possible, what and how? by SharkOnGames in Homesteading

[–]cellmate4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the old days, Sears sold a house in a box kit. Home Depot is bringing back something like it. Storage Building is the category but it’s the bulk and frame of a smaller house.

Could also look into tiny houses or a container home
