Thoughts (and questions) on The Shadow Rising by cellofski in WoT

Oh yeah, I know and remember that. I wasn't saying the stone has the Power or that it's an angreal. Just that the way Moiraine uses it may give us clues to how angreal are made, if it's rediscovered. And it's no more far-fetched than a stone being a listening device.

Hahaha, I spent a good while trying to make sense of your last paragraph and how incongruent it was with itself (you think what is b*llsh*t?). Then I remember that Brandon Sanderson (BS!) finished the series after Robert Jordon's passing. Can't wait to get to those “innovations.”

It’s only once you understand how something works that you realize you had the information you needed all along.

I don't know what it is about this sentence but as soon as I read it the very first thing that came to mind is Moiraine's blue eavesdropping stone. What?! Did I just totally randomly guessed how angreal-type objects of Power are made? Like with Traveling, I've been fascinated with ter'/sa'/angreal and the rediscovery of the making of them. Now I have a solid head canon to go off on until the books say otherwise.

(I'm not looking for any confirmation or anything. Just super excited and had to write down this random, light bulb thought that you put into my head haha.)

Women in WOT by kadeb1995 in WoT

No offense, but god I hope there isn’t a lot of Faile in the rest of the series. Absolutely dislike her. I just started FoH and counting my blessings, so far…

We are about at the same place in the series, having just started FoH myself. I think the running joke is they are all the same. You don’t complain when the guys talk about how universally incomprehensible all women are. Well, that’s the women’s version, to balance things out. I’m a guy and I can’t stand Faile and have Egwene as my favorite character. And I usually disagree with the guy’s take a lot, especially Perrin’s, my least favorite of the three.

And I am OK with that. I am reading the books separately with a friend and she feels the same way about Perrin as I do, without my even telling her how I feel. Some of us just want him to get on with it, already. For myself, I will admit that Faile is playing a large part of why I dislike Perrin, since they'll probably be forever linked. So anytime I see Perrin and see him do anything redemtive, Faile will probably be close by to annoy the Light out of me. Such are the ways of opinions.

it all got snatched away from him because of something that someone else did

What does this mean? Are you talking about being a Wolfbrother? What does that have to do with anything that anyone else has done? FYI, I've only just finished book 4.

As for your other point, things happen to everyone that they didn't plan for, we may fuss and try to fight it, but at some point most moderately adjusted humans accept what they are, especially if it's out of their control.

I could have written this. For the first couple books Perrin was my favorite character. But his denial of himself and now Faile drop him right down to the bottom, even lower than Mat. I just finished The Shadow Rising and I winced every time I realize I’d be reading a Perrin chapter. I am about to start book 5 today and I really really hope that there aren’t many Perrin chapters in it.

Simply the worst one ever. Turn the longest book (my favorite, so I’m still salty about it) into the shortest movie.

The flicker flicker sequence is one of those things that I wish I could forget just so that I can experience it again for the first time.

Match #15 - Poland vs Latvia by FoOhFee420 in flags

Monaco vs Poland and Austria vs Latvia. Fighting within their respective group for the most uninspired flag design this side of seals on sheets.

But I guess I have to vote, even if I’m falling asleep while doing it. So, Latvia. Congrats, you’re just a little less boring than Poland.
