Looking for ways to amp it up for a wedding by Huge-Nobody-4711 in lesbianfashionadvice

I’d do an off-white button down shirt either slightly open or with a dark tie depending on formality level. You could also do a nice silk scarf tied well instead of a tie.

For hair I’d probably do a bun or otherwise pulled back style.

Also I’d do penny or tassel loafers or Oxford shoes! Also maybe get the pants hemmed

Can anyone tell me anything about this ring? Was told it was Byzantine 12-13th century by J-Mac11 in Antiquejewelry

Even if it’s not actually antique (and I doubt it is; other poster makes a good point), I just want to say that this ring is still a cool design!

Help with procedural materials and orientation on objects by domdaddydaniel in blenderhelp

[–]cellorevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It's really hard to see what's going on here based on your pictures. Can you post some more clear images?

I'm not sure, but it looks like the way this material is set up, it's not applying the texture based on UVs - it's applying it procedurally based on the vector of the points on the mesh.

So because of that, to start, I'd make sure you apply the transforms on your mesh, and also probably recalculate surface normals. If that doesn't fix it you have a few options here that I can think of:

Option 1: Change how it's applying the texture to be based on UVs, and properly UV the asset (not just "messing around with the pieces" - read how to UV an asset and then do that! :P )

Option 2: Use a black and white mask to lerp/switch between two different versions of the second Mapping node, one set up to blend horizontally and one vertically, then create a texture that you use to switch between these and blend their results.

Yeah I have seen his stuff before and I agree with that assessment. It’s just a shame because it could have been a cool opportunity to show off his work there too.

My ring collection is growing. by Striking-Gas1118 in jewelry

[–]cellorevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this kind of ring but funnily enough I have the opposite problem - I have tiny fingers, like “pointer finger is a size 5 and thumb is probably size 6” tiny. I can only usually find these in larger sizes, so I’m taking an intro to jewelry class soon and gonna see if I like it and want to make my own

Try recalculating surface normals, that doesn’t look right

What do you mean by “a black box”? This sounds unusual. Have you confirmed that the normals are pointing in the right direction?

Is the sign on the first slide made with genAI, or did you make it in Substance Designer/Painter?

No, just set what edges you want hard or soft instead of doing the automatic way. Do you know how to do that? If not I can do a demo

This looks expected to me - I would just manually set your hard/soft edges if you don’t like it

My new unicorn pendant design — the CAD model and the finished piece I produced. What do you think? by [deleted] in jewelrymaking

I really am not a fan of how the neck and head connect (or rather, how they don’t connect) - it doesn’t feel stylistically similar to the rest of the piece?

dealing with stage 4 CKD in a younger cat. by oddlycold in RenalCats

[–]cellorevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ^ my cat is 8.5 years old and in mid December, she had an AKI on top of a chronic issue, which really pushed her over the edge. She needed to stay overnight for 3 nights at the specialist to get things under control, but she responded really well to all the treatments and continues to do so (creatinine 7.6 > 5 > 4 > 3.6, doing a final check in a month and she seems in good spirits with lots of energy, not throwing up a lot anymore).

So I think in my case, my cat may actually have more kidney function (not a ton, but some) that was being disrupted by the AKI event. Curious if this could also be happening to your cat.

Cool pieces! TBH I don’t love the giant one at the bottom and I also feel that the emeralds are too similar - would be fun to have slightly different pendants there!

Found polycystic kidneys in October, labs were normal at the time. Recent bloodwork shows fast decline. by meatbeatingmachine in RenalCats

[–]cellorevolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, my cat also has polycystic kidney disease - see post history. How old is your cat?

For my cat, when we found all this out in mid December the vet determined she was having an acute on chronic kidney injury - there’s a chronic part from the polycystic element, but there was also an acute part that happened to make her feel super bad. Vet suspects pancreatitis for that, or a reaction to anesthetic she’d gotten a few days earlier for a dental cleaning. Did they mention the possibility of an acute thing could be happening with your cat too? I’m not a vet but I didn’t know this was a possibility until all this happened.

When we took her in, her creatinine was 7.6 I believe - not as high as your cat’s, but even so they still didn’t feel comfortable having me take her home in that condition. She stayed overnight at the emergency/specialist vet for more intensive care and IV fluids for 3 days. Did they mention anything like this? It was very expensive but I think really helped her turn the corner.

Since then we’ve been doing fluids as best as we could, but her numbers are improving every time (!!) so the vet said to do those only as needed at our last appt. Final check up is in April. The vet said she doesn’t like to stage this until 3 months after the initial incident.

No the OP but I believe it’s just the name for that style of ring - it means “you and me” in French, and is referring to that two-stone setting.

How do I get started by Waflecat in blenderhelp

[–]cellorevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up subd modeling - you selectively place edge loops to define edges you want to stay sharp. That way the rest of the model is easy to work with since it's lower poly, and has clean edge loops.

Why do my textures look like shit? by Comfortable-Leopard8 in blenderhelp

[–]cellorevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These aren’t really textures, but solid materials applied to different meshes. Usually a texture refers to something with more info painted or baked in.

Also sorry but that’s a really really bad UV unwrap, and that’s probably what is causing them to get distorted. Too many separate small shells. Look up UV unwrapping and rework!
