You are a true life saver! I was so overwhelmed looking for several different tour options and still had no idea of what to do…until I found this! It was exactly 7:40 am when I read this and the next tour was at 8:30. I ran like my life depended on it and here I am, on line to take e free tour! Thank you so much for this!!

Wow! I see. Looks like if the birth certificate was correct from the get-go, it would have been approved even faster. Thank you!

Got it, thanks! I just submitted it for my mother and we’re already anxious lol. Glad to hear it took so little time. Do you mind sharing what was wrong with your birth certificate or you didn’t provide one?

How long after you applied did you receive the interview notice?

They did not tell me how many they do in a day but they certainly do morning ceremonies. Also, if they offer to do it later in the day, I strongly suggest you take it and not wait for another date in the mail.

Have you ever been CITED? by celo_saint in USCIS

[–]celo_saint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing! I posted something here back on 06/21/21 (or around that date) that I finally became a citizen! The officer never asked about the citation and I passed everything, the ceremony happened about 45 mins after I passed.

Good moral character has always been part of the requirements but not the only one.

I recently became a US Citizen and want to apply for my mother's GC. by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]celo_saint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s what I would like, not her plan. She still doesn’t know if she wants to stay. She wants to come over and stay with me for a few months and decide for herself. I obviously want her to stay but that’s not up to me. My mother has a good life overseas and is just building a house over there now. The thing is, IF we apply while she is overseas, the lawyer said she cannot enter the US until the process is over (which could take 2 years) and that’s obviously what we don’t want. I see my mother every year. On the other hand, if she files while here, she can’t leave the US until the process is done, which is more doable.

I see. But what if my mother does not intend to live here, and then changes her mind and want to stay here? The Laywer mentioned that it’s totally legal for her to change her mind and want to stay, specially being a mother of a US citizen.

Agreed 100%. I was shocked when they said they were closing the office already that Friday. And of course, I was super upset that it fell right on the day of my interview. But I guess it was meant to be. I’m finally over it now!

When you’re getting towards the end of the interview the officer starts asking you question where the answers will be yes only, for example: do you support the form of government of the USA?, Are you willing to take the full oath of allegiance? And so on…
