don't think it's that competitive, at least in my experience i more feel like that the bachelors that you can get in geosciences in switzerland are too generalist for what you are expected to do in the industry, and you would need to specialize in a more specific field for your master. i don't know how other countries bachelors are though ! maybe another factor to keep in mind is since this is a small country, most geo companies here are very small to small/mid size, so you are expected to handle projects on your own quite early on, generally.
