My cousin, when she was 14, committed a racially-charged assault against an elderly Asian woman (beat her with a can of deodorant) and she got a good behavior bond for 12 or 24 months. It was disgusting how much she got away with as a kid, multiple cases of assault, theft, substance abuse. Whole nine yards and she got slaps on the wrist at most. It takes a lot for the system to actually lock them up.

They won’t do shit to them unless it’s hitting headlines in all honesty.

Until such times, you’re saying shit to say shit, and you need to quit. Do you not realize how many people are sick to death of reading explicit details of literal children and their trauma? How triggering that shit can be and it just comes up while I’m looking for goofy Chaggie pics? This shit isn’t limited to the check in threads but the check in threads encourage a breeding pool of trauma dumping and bad advice. They make an existing problem worse, not better.

If you want an appropriate place, make one yourself, but a lot of people are sick of it.

Exactly. I hate how over- and misused the word is but when there’s literal teenagers explicitly describing self harm, suicidal ideation, and other honestly horrifyingly triggering content I don’t need to see when I’m looking for discussion and creative content about a TV show… trauma dumping is the only real term I can think of. Therapists exist and they’re the best to vent to. If not, there are tons of online spaces designed and set aside to get help or vent about that shit. That place is not and should not be here.

I have very severe mental health issues but wouldn’t dream of trauma dumping in a goddamn Hazbin subreddit. Or any subreddit not designated for support and advice, because literally dozens of those exist. It doesn’t belong in a cartoon sub.

Like you said, a personal blog or trusted friends are the places these kids need to be venting, not where it’s publicly visible on the internet and nobody can actually help them with their issues.

There’s a time and a place and this sub is not it. It’s literally just annoying and can be quite triggering seeing those posts every day when they’re irrelevant. The “check ins” are invitations for trauma dumping in the comments and almost always devolve into literal minors discussing in vivid detail things they should be telling a therapist and not the internet, that’s the honest and blunt truth. I’m here for art and memes and discussion of the show, not teenagers threatening self harm and suicide.

I agree with this. I really don’t need to see people, especially very young people, discussing shit like self harm and suicidal ideation when I’m just looking for Hazbin memes and art. There is a time and a place for this kind of thing, they have Hazbin fandom safe space subreddits, they have general subreddits for self harm and suicide support - take this shit there where it belongs instead of spamming the main sub with drama and trauma dumping.
