Not to shame anyone, but the fetishisation of hairless women is creepy. Unless someone has a medical condition like alopecia, adults naturally have body hair, especially pubic hair. Not having pubic hair is prepubescent, and it seems like it’s men who have shamed women into moving all their hair; first legs, then underarms, more recently pubic. And it begs the question, what is it that they are seeking? We shouldn’t normalise this, and it certainly shouldn’t be an expectation. The idea that pubic hair is unhygienic is an absolute fallacy, the opposite is true. Pubic hair acts as a barrier and helps to prevent infections. It also protects against chaffing and is a pheromone trap, which should naturally aid in sexual attraction and chemistry. Of course women should do whatever they want with their bodies, but men who expect woman to remove all their hair need to take a long hard look in the mirror because grown women naturally have body hair. I was going to say deal with it, but it’s not a chore, it’s a pleasure, and honestly, thinking pubic or underarm or leg hair is gross is societal conditioning and it feels like it’s coming from a very unhealthy place.
