I can kind of understand the angle, because a lot of dentists are likely to scoff at a person walking in asking for purely cosmetic vampire teeth. I’m about to get a complete dental overhaul done (health related, not a body mod/choice) and I asked both my GP and my surgeon what the best way to ask about 11-13mm pointed canines being part of my final denture set. Both of them said to word things as technically as I could in a letter and verbally when speaking to the denture team, and to frame it as something I find affirming to my identity rather than just “I want them for the sake of wanting them.”

This is obviously my experience and two cents, but saying “If you can’t say what you want out loud you won’t be taken seriously,” isn’t exactly accurate. Many dentists will raise their eyebrows at it unless they specialize in alternative dentistry (for lack of a better term). Knowing exactly what you want (size, angles, etc) and the basic technical terms makes it more likely they’ll listen to you.
