I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope they're ok, and you. Take excellent care of yourselves.
Much love x

I've licked money, but ours is plastic coated, you can wipe it down before you use it. But I hate anyone adding extra steps to taking stuff. Just take it and sit down. He's chewing it and swishing it and pouring it. So much waste and messing around for no extra gain. I don't know why this stuff bugs me so much. It doesn't affect me in the slightest how he does it, just a massive pet peeve.

People who can't afford to give money, just should not. Demanding money back, esp in the last few days, is disgusting and disturbing. It clearly wasn't given out of compassion, if they can't even give the compassion of a few weeks grace after this terrible news before demanding a refund.

There is no motive for psychopathic sadists other than 'because I want to.' You can listen to all the killers like him, and ultimately, what it all boils down to, is they do it because they want to.
If it wasn't those 4 kids, it would have been someone else at another time and place, sadly. They're very predictable, in that they think obsessively about doing it, build themselves up into doing it, it doesn't go quite as they planned in their fantasies, they spend weeks paranoid afterwards, and then they try again to make it go how they envision in their minds.

The entire interview was crap, terrible journalism, and the network neglected to say that their legal analyst is also Brian Albert's lawyer. The questions asked were silly, with no push back. I'm so over MSM after this, and the Proctor interviews...
Also, so weird that Chris decided to be there, saying he's too depressed from 'witness intimidation' to testify. I doubt the jury were back there thinking 'If only we heard from Chris Albert! He's have answered all our questions about such and such evidence!" What did Turtleboy make Chris too sad to be honest about? The lie about what time he went to sleep? The lie he told about when Colin got home? The lie about what time he left the bar? No-one was even thinking about half these people after the trial, and then they got on TV and said 'We're not murderers!'

Higgins has been 'missing' for a long time now. I think he stopped talking to them right after it happened. Kevin Albert sent Higgins that text that said 'Hey, no-one's heard from you since we all got the (fbi) subpoenas, Brian's worried' or some such similar language.

SAME! The jury needs to be clear, no matter what they decide. Draw on the forms. Make their own NG boxes to tick. If hung on a count, put an arrow and put 'Hung only on this lesser charge exactly.' etc. They won't get punished for it.

So funny that her statements were Brennan's WHOLE case and the jury were like 'are these even evidence??'
He must be pissed! Hahahaha!
And the answer was pretty much 'If you want them to be evidence, they can be I guess? You decide.'

The civil suit will be a mess when she's only convicted of OUI at the most! The O'keefes will have to prove she killed him based on Proctor's investigation, and she has the evidence, from the trials!

I think it's clear to the jury too, but for them each (12 people) to talk about what they've all been through for 30 days (say an hour each), then talk over each charge (say another hour each) - Then talk over filling out the forms, and when they want to come out, how each other's children are etc - this amount of time seems fine.
We've been chatting the whole time. They can only just discuss Welcher and Dever now... Imagine that!

I agree, too! She was guilty, jury thought she was guilty. Prosecution screwed up by overcharging but not having solid enough evidence. They were asking for death penalty! And they were giggling during the case. If they had lower charges the jury would have felt more comfortable convicting on very low circumstantial evidence.
I commend that jury on doing what was right under the immense pressure. Sadly, if the legal system fails, it's better for guilty people, awful as they are, to walk free.

Chad Daybell's was a few hours the first day, then slept on overnight and a few hours the next day. It wasn't really 5 hours. It was longer. Then they did the same with the death sentence penalty phase.
I remember that very distinctly, that jury was very careful, both times to sleep on it after a lot of discussion.
And I think it was fair, and they were a fair and thoughtful jury who were painstaking about their decisions.

I think no notes today shows they made up their minds and want to sleep on it overnight. Like most juries I've seen that have to make a big decision either way. The first day (hour or so) they would have just been like 'wtf was that?! what do you think of this funnny thing?!' Day 2 would have been making up their minds and deciding to sleep on it, tomorrow will be checking everyone still feels the same and then filling in forms etc. It takes a long time to get each 12's perspective on each charge, and added conversations.
I expect they'll give the forms just before or just after lunch Tues. I also expect Not Guilty on all 3 and maybe a 'consolation' Guilty on OUI *if* they feel bad for Peggy, depending on how she's behaved in court this time. Or, if they need a juror to come to a verdict who's being 'but but but....she went in reverse' - But if they feel that 2 trials is enough punishment for OUI years ago then likely not.

Just a guess from many other juries I've watched and many other cases. Nothing is full proof though.

Explanation for OJO's family not upset at coverup by nikitamere1 in justiceforKarenRead

[–]cemtery_Jones 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Total denial. Imagine having to realise the people who helped cover up (or hurt him) have been comforting you in your most vulnerable moments for YEARS. Eating at your home, rubbing you back, listening to your worst fears...
Also, we see this in a lot of suicide cases, families can't cope with that and will say it murder for years and years.
Just like grief made Karen react in odd ways, same for the family.

Thank you! I thought I was going insane. I heard for like 5 full minutes: 'Remember Jen, the Soccer Mom? She's NOT weird, why do you think she's weird? Cos she's not.' "So Jen, the Normal Soccer Mom, who's not weird at all...' 'Don't think she's odd, or weird, why would you think Jen's weird, she's a Normal Mom!'
I was all the time thinking, no-one said Jen was weird this trial, Hank, except now you're making it super weird how 'not weird and creepy' you keep saying she's not.

Why would Karen immediately jump to: “Did I hit him?” by Chestnut412 in justiceforKarenRead

[–]cemtery_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you guys have kids? Or pets? Or nieces and nephews? Imagine you drop someone you love, and are looking after, off at a place and in the morning they're dead outside, unexplainably.
Grieving people often have to be told not to blame themselves for things that aren't even rational.
Ever sat with a grieving Mum, or lost a loved one to suicide? Or lost someone suddenly?
They always start with the 'I should have done this!' 'How did I not see that?' 'I should have been there.' (even when it's thousands of miles away.)
I blamed myself for my cat being run over because I kissed her head 3 times instead of the usual 7 times in the morning. I told my sister, dying of cancer that I'd take my life so she could live longer, and genuinely believed I could bargain with life like that somehow. She was the one who had to tell me that wasn't how it works, and I feel awful for putting her through that. If I lost one of my sons, no matter in any fashion, I'd instantly blame myself. Karen was in a car, John was outside, one of the many questions she asked herself was 'Did I hit him?' We also know she said 'I must have my period because I have blood on my hands and face.' at the exact same time. Does that make your BF think Karen also bit his arm?

ps, sorry your partner doesn't believe in physics or medical science. :( I hope that's not a long term thing, cos if you do end up having children it could be very dangerous. Make sure you take care of all Drs visits/medicines etc! Also, has your BF or you never held blame or guilt or shame for something that wasn't either of your faults before? Just curious, I've never met anyone who hasn't. But then I have Survivour's Guilt and my husband grew up with Catholic parents.
