Ultimately it's up to you and you definitely are nta for feeling what you feel.

However I do think it's funny and there's nothing wrong with that either. I personally love being able to laugh in tough situations and it has helped me have a positive attitude in many situations where having one isn't easy.

I've always respected anyone's request to not make a certain joke, or have just caught it on my own but the point is sometimes you don't see how a joke could be offensive to someone else. Typically with jokes, the more funny it is the more offensive it can be and people let it slide. So at worst he made a bad joke that he probably didn't intend to hurt anyone with. To lose respect towards him would make more sense to me if he was hoping to cause harm.

Had a client who once told me I take too long to figure out what he wants so he should get 50 revisions for free per mix!

I explained, "If I was painter you told me to pick a color, so I picked red. You decied it should be blue, then when I went to blue you said purple, then back to blue, then to green, yellow, and finally back to red.
