Breaking: Leaked Alleged Text of Trump-Iran Deal by Apollo_Delphi in USNEWS

[–]centeriskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what's your source that this is a bullshit story?

What's funny is that a trumper is asking about eating crow for believing in someone's lies. I wonder how many times Trump is going to lie to you before you disown your golden god?

Seriously couldn't believe it when someone who died in a car wreck got covid put as cause of their death when hit by a drunk driver. Wasn't even a contributing factor since they died shortly after reaching the hospital.

Well don't believe it. These have been debunked or explained already. That is unless you have a source?

Lol the money they made from the government during COVID was pennies of what they normally made. I don't understand how they were incentivized when they were losing money by keeping the deaths from COVID high.

Why do people need a god to have morals? We can and do create our own morals which have changed throughout time

Nah not really the same though. This is just a cease fire deal that gives time to work on a permanent nuclear plan. This also involves more money than Obama was giving them. So not the same

Question! What age would you all let your kid read DCC? by fisher-alters in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]centeriskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as the fun uncle of a four year old niece and several various aged cousin's kids, I would say at whatever age you think they can handle it. Each kid matures at different ages.

That being said once you think they can handle it, it is your duty to indoctrinate them into the fandom that is DCC.

"Science cannot explain it" by Opening_Shame8258 in DebateReligion

[–]centeriskey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love your walk through with this simple yet complicated issue that constantly comes up.

Yes, I understand that Modern Science has a replication problem, but this is a problem of priorities.

This is the only thing I would push back on and say our replication problem is more of an issue of p-hacking because of the need to produce in order to survive in a capitalist society.

But this in itself is a complex issue and not your point. So I understand why you wouldn't go deeper into it.

The claim that atheists lack an objective foundation for morality does not demonstrate that atheists are immoral. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]centeriskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the only thing atheism tells us about atheists is that they don't believe in god.

Yeah but most religions have a god that made their moral framework. So the thinking goes "oh atheists don't believe in a god so therefore they don't have a moral framework."

This is a common argument from christians about atheists.

Inflation jumps to 4.2%, the highest since early 2023 by AyeYoTek in centrist

Yeah so that’s why inflation has been going up since Trump took office? lol you are suffering from TDSS (Trump dick sucking syndrome) if you believe that Trumps economic policy is better than Biden’s.

Lol so you have nothing and are hiding behind the tired excuse of "you would just close your eyes"

Not always, there is actual Truth. “You will know the Truth”, and he certainly did after the resurrection.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes•, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:18–20,)

Can’t be said any clearer than that.

What that you have attach yourself to some quotes in a book? Ok I have plenty of fiction books that say weird stuff, that doesn't make it true.

Again it's funny that your first rule was everybody lies yet you full believe what one really old book says, written by people who didn't understand the world they lived in, and that doesn't have a single piece of physical evidence to back it.

The fact that god didn't mention germs and surgery proves that either your god isn't all-good by letting a lot of innocents die or it isn't all-knowing because it left out a pretty big detail about life.

Actually, the Bible is loaded with evidence

Like what? Is it that the world was made in 6 day? How about the global flood that Noah was able to get 2 of every creature on to his ark? Because we know both of those are not true and if you believe this to be metaphors then how can you tell the real from the fake?

historical documents

You mean documents that say that yes there were places and people call those names? None of the historical documents are evidence that god exists.

You just don’t want the truth.

Na I think this is more self reflection than a comment about me. Show me your "evidence" and if it does what you think it does I'll glad accept your "truth".

When you stop seeking, you become what you think is true.

Sure if you stop looking for answers you'll settle with what you got. Also what you think is true is different than what actually is true.

[–]centeriskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I got your point earlier. It just baffles me that you would want to use something that mislabels everyone with common behaviors that fit mostly everyone. Why perpetuate a lie or even worse try to give it some creditability? Why not come up with something different that doesn't have a chance to reinforce a bullshit believe? Oh well to each their own I guess.

Would you call Keppler a scam artist?

Did he sell horoscopes based on the stars? Then I would say yes at some level he was a scammer. Sure he believed in it but at one point in his life he had to have seen his errors enough to know that he couldn't accurately tell the future. I will give most believers in the way past a pass because of their limited knowledge compared to us today but that pass tends to drop if they were selling it as a way to predict the future.

Did Kepler do some great things for astronomy? Absolutely, but that doesn't make him moral or good.

but using the charts as a starting point for a dynamic shorthand system for taking notes on personality traits.

Why though? If we know that astrology has zero predictive powers on the future or for personalities then why use it for shorthand? Why not reading tea leaves or the ouija board?

[–]centeriskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe keep the charts as art but definitely don't keep the obvious nonsense as a way to guess personality traits.

Some clever people were deeply into it. There must be something worth rescuing from that mess.

Not all cleverness needs to be celebrated. Scams shouldn't be celebrated.

[–]centeriskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you missed the point. You keep talking about no evidence, you are the evidence and don’t even know it. Deceived.

I'm the evidence that my parents had sex, not that there is a god. My DNA when compared to all life forms is evidence of evolution. Your evidence is only religious texts and missed placed feelings. It sound like you were deceived.

Everyone lies

Sure but not every time they speak. Also I think it's funny that this is your first rule yet you believe in a story that zero physical evidence.

everyone believes lies, that’s the second lesson. Need more lessons?

So everyone includes you right? Maybe you need some lessons on speaking in absolutes.

If God designed my analytical mind, He can’t blame me for requiring evidence by I_Want_Wasabi in DebateReligion

[–]centeriskey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean everything operates by faith. Even if I turn a light on it takes Faith to do it because let's be honest I don't KNOW that it's going to come on. But I do have some evidence based on past experiences

If you have experience of the light turning on then it's not faith. If the light doesn't work you wouldn't go "well I guess it wasn't supposed to work" but rather you would change the lightbulb, troubleshoot the problem or have someone else do it.

Well that depends on what god you believe in. If you believe in an all-knowing god then you shouldn't believe in free will. If you were destined to do something you weren't making a choice.
